You broke curfew three days later.
Midnight warned you not to.
"Y/N," she said, voice stern. "This doesn't make you stronger. It makes you desperate."
"I am desperate," you replied, slipping your coat on.
She didn't stop you.
But she watched you go.
⸻
You took a train across the city in the dark. Found his apartment. Climbed the old stairs until your legs shook.
You knocked.
No answer.
You knocked again.
Still nothing.
Then you said, "I know you're in there."
The lock clicked.
He stood in the doorway in sweatpants and a hoodie, hair a mess, eyes hollow.
You almost cried at the sight of him.
"Why are you here?" he whispered.
"Because I never left."
⸻
He didn't say anything.
Just stepped aside.
You walked in, dropped your bag, and turned to him.
"I don't care about the rules anymore."
"You should."
"Well, I don't."
He stepped forward.
"You're risking everything."
"So are you."
You pushed your hand to his chest.
"I don't want to be brave anymore. I just want you."
That broke him.
He kissed you hard, backed you into the wall, hands shaking as he ripped your coat off.
"I tried to stay away," he rasped. "I tried so fucking hard."
"I didn't want you to."
⸻
He pushed you back onto his bed and tore your clothes off piece by piece, like he needed you naked now or he'd lose his mind.
He kissed every inch of your skin, hands trembling.
Then he slid inside you slowly, face pressed to your neck, breath shaking.
"This isn't just sex," he whispered. "It's a confession."
You wrapped your arms around him. "Then say everything."
And he did.
He moved inside you slow, deep, every thrust full of aching restraint. His forehead touched yours, hands locked in your hair, hips grinding in rhythm until your legs trembled.
You clung to him, eyes locked, breath ragged.
When you came, it was with a gasp and a cry of his name.
He followed you over the edge seconds later, mouth on your shoulder, moaning into your skin like it hurt.
⸻
Afterward, you lay tangled together in the dark.
"I dream about you," he said. "Even when I try not to."
You kissed his collarbone.
"I live for you."
