His Disaster
The breeze around the lake was refreshing, offering a perfect contrast to the sunny afternoon. The sunlight shimmered on the water, creating a serene view that I couldn't get enough of. Manika, on the other hand, had her own ways of "enjoying" the moment—by poking the poor fishes in the lake with sticks, stirring up little splashes that made them dart away in panic, after we were done building our tent in the camping destination.
"You're going to scare them all away," I said, half-amused, watching her with a smile.
"Eh, they're fish. They'll come back," she replied with a mischievous grin, swirling the stick in the water like a kid.
"Why do you even enjoy doing that?" I asked, shaking my head as I watched her go at it.
"Because it's fun!" she said, her curly hair bouncing as she poked at the surface again. "Also, it's kinda therapeutic. I'm making sure they stay alert—building their reflexes, you know? I'm basically a fish coach."
