The song of this chapter is All I Want by Kodaline which I forgot to include in the playlist but yeaaahh

-

I gave myself a once over in the mirror when I heard Jack's car horn beep from outside.

First day of an actual job, I can do this, I can do this.

-

"Okay, since you two are newbies, Jack you're assigned to wait the tables and Tanner you're working cash register since you already learned in training. Make sure you wash up before touching any food whatsoever." Kennedy explained. Jack and I nodded, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Christian wiping down some tables, glaring at us the whole time.

"Are you as ready for this as I am?" He asked through gritted teeth, keeping a fake smile.

I smiled back, "If that means you want to die then yes I am ready." I said, patting his shoulder and making my way to the cash register.

People started to come in, and ordered their food, and when Jack had come up to get the food for them, he made comments about the customers, all the while keeping a smile.

After about an hour and a half, Jack was on break and talked to me while I continued to work register.

"And so she was like 'This order is completely wrong isn't it the waiters' job to make sure the order is correct?' and God help me, I didn't bitch slap her, but I was so close." He groaned, rolling his eyes.

I laughed softly at him, "You're absolutely too much." I said.

"Flirting, 9 o' clock." Jack said, and I had to think for a moment before turning to look where he pointed.

This started off as wanting to keep an eye on Christian, but that tactic seemed more important to him than it did to me. All in all, I was just happy to have a regular job, especially that my closest friend and boyfriend were also here.

But when I looked into the kitchen and saw Kennedy a little too close to Christian, and that kind of giggle rang through the restaurant, my heart sank.

Jack saw the look on my face, and make the noise of clicking an imaginary pen.

"Reason number 1 of infinity why Tanner Mancari's boyfriend just so happens to be a problematic fave." He said in mock tone, pretending to scribble on a sheet of paper.

"Shut up Jack. What do you expect him to do? He found out about what happened at the party, and we're working here together, of course he's going to be upset." I said, turning away from the view.

"Yeah, that and he's trying to make you jealous. If you want him as much as I want you, then you need to show him that it's him you want!" Jack practically screeched.

A customer walked up and I smiled politely, taking his order.

"Damnit Tan, even I miss the Golden Couple, and I don't even like Christian! I just hate how unhappy you are when you two fight. Do something about it, or-or I will." He said.

"Oh really?" I looked at him, "And how are you going to do that?"

"I don't know yet, but I'll find out a way. My break is over, later."

-

When my cleaning shift was over, Jack gave me a ride home, and soon after Christian called, asking if he could come over.

I had asked my dad, and because I had told him everything that happened, he gave Christian a disapproving look every time he passed by.

I really took what Jack had said into consideration, and realized that it was true. The only reason we're still in this dumb argument is because I haven't proven to him that I want him and nobody else.

So I explained it to him, and he finally broke down and told me the flirting was just an act. Which of course made me angry, but who can blame him.

"It was kinda funny seeing you get all flustered when I made Kennedy laugh." Christian said as he sat on my bed, scrolling through his phone. I threw a crumpled up piece of paper at him, but he dodged it.

"Just to let you know, Kennedy flirted with me. I'm a committed man, and as of now and hopefully forever I'll be committed to you, capiche?" he said.

"Is this a proposal?" I gasped dramatically, placing a hand over my heart. He laughed at me, his nose scrunching up in the cute way that I missed.

"I love you." He said, his laughing slowing down.

"Oh you do now?" I asked, acting as if I didn't care.

"Yes and I'll show you just how much one day, but for now let's take a nap please. It's 3 and I'm tired" He whined, grabbing my hand and falling back as he pulled me beside him.

After a few minutes of silence and both of us trying to fall asleep, he nuzzled his face into my hair, kissing the top of my head.

"Our love was made for movie screens. Remember that Mancari."

These last few chapters really sucked but I was tired of the drama and I really wanted to clear it up

if I'm going to be honest this book is nowhere near the same as it was when it first started, not as light-hearted and cute anymore but this is kind of what I had in mind all along, because obviously no relationship is perfect

now I'm just ranting but thank you ily guys
