"Uncle has been busy—perhaps in more ways than one," Yu Yan said. "Nonetheless, congratulations."

Busy, was it? Feng Xuo studied the other person on one of the screens linked to his terminal.

"Nephew. What are you accusing me of this time?" Feng Xuo directly asked, wanting to end the call quickly and chase after someone, lest his daughter's hard-won 'endeavors' come to naught.

Seeing the impatience on his Uncle Feng's face, Yu Yan smiled while thinking, Ah, young hot-blooded love.

"You have military contracts." Yu Yan declared instead of asking.

Feng Xuo looked more and more displeased as time passed. Then gave a startling smile, "Referring to the pods?"

Yu Yan nodded, tone flat. "This naive nephew thought Uncle was solely peddling entertainment platforms. But it seems that this nephew has underestimated Uncle Feng."

Feng Xuo's eyes flickered into a squint before answering aloud with a neutral smile.

I've underestimated your deduction skills as well. "...The virtual pods should've arrived yesterday. Is that what you're referring to?"

So it seems that Uncle Feng is not denying it. Yu Yan nodded in response, "This naive nephew, it seems, is a little blind."

"Oh?" Feng Xuo chuckled. Blind but not blind enough not to notice my business plans apparently. "Tell me. What do you think I've done?"

For a moment, Yu Yan studied the expression on Feng Xuo's face. He contemplated for a while, then leaned forward. His face was just as unreadable as Head Feng's, down to the eerily similar business smile that adorned it.

"Uncle Feng launched the entertainment platform first so that the backbone system can be installed. The moment it became widespread, you could roll out various exclusively manufactured devices such as the virtual pods, and perhaps even the terminal this nephew uses is part of the product brochure."

Imagine it like this—think of a massive service platform (A/N: as big as Go*gle or Micr*soft) but built for entertainment. It's got everything: games, forums, learning hubs, social media—you name it. Compared to what the Alhoshian had before, this was the next tier. Everyone can access it, but some phones were built to run it better, with exclusive features baked right into the device. Not everyone will buy such devices, but enthusiasts and rich kids definitely would.

Now take that and level it up. Instead of just using a screen, imagine a full-body VR setup—like diving straight into the game. One is not simply playing a surgery sim; they were the surgeon wearing scrubs. One was not just piloting a plane on-screen—they were in the cockpit flipping real switches.

That's where the military and Margaux come in, especially the combat course department. They lose cadets all the time—partly due to cadet inexperience, malfunctioning mechas, or live missions gone wrong; even the mere unexpectedness of being in this field. But with this system, they can train through simulated experiences first, safely. It's virtual, but it feels real enough to count as cadets' first-hand experience, thus reducing the high mortality rate of students compared to the other departments.

But perhaps it would be different now.

Yu Yan shrugged then added, "So now that the system can run on the hardware it was always meant for, this created an integrated infrastructure that's much more efficient and better in performance than separately selling them. Shall this nephew continue?"

Feng Xuo leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms, quiet. It was a gesture of listening.

"Since the isolated system platform is enough to become successful through its commercial value, Uncle can sell the integrated infrastructure only to the military or those who can afford it. Although, this nephew would assume that whoever buys from Uncle must be experienced in scattering gold like dirt."
