Chapter 13 - Ripples

"Look Keane, if you're really in bad physical pain, maybe I should go and wake Angelo"

"No, I'll be fine, let's not bring them into this" I replied, as he injected me in the leg, "I'm going to chill on the sofa for a while okay" he looked at me, "I'm not ready to go back to sleep yet"

"Just don't disappear again"

"I'll try", he slipped in next to Arii who didn't even stir, I positioned myself on the sofa so I could stretch my leg out. I knew Tayte was watching me, I honestly loved him so much, but sometimes he acted like an overprotective parent or boyfriend, I smiled and shut my eyes, letting my mind wonder and thoughts drift, I didn't even realise I fell asleep.

The next time I awoke my phone read 7am, I noticed Tayte wasn't in the bed, so I guessed he'd gone into the bathroom. Arii was still sleeping; I never knew she was such a deep sleeper. I got up and stretched, ignoring the boot and grabbing a crutch, as I headed out the room I bumped into Noah,

"You're up early" I said,

"I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep; I was coming to see you"

"We'll go talk by the pool, I might get in and see how my leg is" his eyes lit up,

"I'll go grab swim stuff" and he dashed off,

5 minutes later we were sat at the edge of the pool, our legs dipped in the cool water, he looked at me,

"Where's your boot and other crutch?"

"Oh don't you start Noah"

"Okay, okay, no fighting" I slid into the pool, "How does it feel on your leg?" he asked joining me,

"Hurts like a bugger, I definitely cannot kick, it feels good to move around freely though"

"What are we doing today?" I smiled,

"I thought we'd explore the neighbourhood and then see if Talina will let us go into Johannesburg"

"How long are we going to stay here for?"

"How long do you want to stay here for?"

"It seems like a chilled place and we deserve to have a nice relaxing break. Not that I don't want to find our parents, I do...I just..."

"I know what you mean"

"You do know I love you right?"

"Yes buddy, I know and I love you too" he dived under the water, when he resurfaced I asked "What were you thinking about that meant you couldn't sleep?" he went to swim away but I grabbed him, "Noah"

"You, I was worrying about you"

"Well, you should stop because there's nothing to worry about"

"Lovely pool isn't it" Talina said, we looked up, Talina, Arii, Angelo and Tayte were carrying breakfast things out followed by Anthony. I hadn't realised how long we'd in the pool just bobbing around and chatting,

"Sure is" Noah answered getting out, "Morning handsome" He then said to Angelo who threw him a towel and kissed him, Tayte put the plates down and came over to the pool,

"You disappeared" he said,

"So did you" he gave me his hand and hauled me out, Arii then ran over with a towel,

"Morning" she chirped happily,

"Morning sis, did you sleep well?"

"Like a baby" Tayte and I just exchanged a wry smile, "Breakfast is ready, come on" we joined everyone else at the table with Talina,
