"What happened?" I ask. I look at Derek and John who have Dr. Argon in a tight grasp, even though he is unconscious.
"Do you remember anything?" John asks.
"Well, I remember Dr. Argon coming after me witha metal finger and the rest is foggy," I think hard but his metal finger reaching toward me was all that I could recall.
"Let's lock him up," Sam says and we start to walk towards the house. JOhn slung his arm around my waist and help me walk, I was still groggy.
By the time we got in, I was walking fine. I helped the group shove Dr. Argon into a small sitting room by the stair well. Sam volunteered to keep watch.
"What are we going to do?" I ask. We all sit silently at the dining room table. Derek shrugs.
"You know what I find funny?" Nicole says. "We haven't been going insane for what, a week now? I mean we should have had those crazy visions. This is a long break."
I nod. "Maybe it has something to do with doctor Argon?" I suggest. We go silent again. As we sit with our heads down, my mind starts drifting.
After ten minutes, sleep starts washing over me. I lean my head on the table. A good, relaxing feeling calms my body. Ahhhhh...
Then a jolt comes from my left arm.
"Whaaa?" I mumble, still bathing in relaxation. A voice shouts, but I don't understand what he or she is saying. A harsh jab hits my back that forces me forward. My head hits the table and I am awake. I look up to see darkness.
Pale images of NIcole, Derek, and John stand around me with distant eyes. Then, all at once, their heads snap at me. I get up and step back.
Their faces begin to decay as if they are changing to zombies. I take another step back. My heart flutters. Run, run, run. The word pounds in my head. But there is no where to run to.
A bright light shines to my right. I turn and realize it is the sun, in darkness. The odd sun dial sits beneath it. I look back at my zombie-ified friends. they stand still. I walk to the sun dial. A ticking noise clicks. I watch as the sun moves and the shadow changes. When the shadow hits three o'clock, the ticking stops. The sun stays in its spot. I reach out and touch the sun dial. what isthis all about?
Suddenly, the sun dial spins madly. I step back in shock. Then, it freezes abruptly. words are etched into the sun dial, crudly and in a hurry.
Escape. Its begun. This is no insanity. Break the wall. Find the train. Do Not Die. You are evolving. Everyone is.
The blackness brightens and I am standing at the dining table, everyone staring at me in disbelief.
