I peered up at the house. It wasn't painted, four windows were placed in the front. The door was red but was peeling away. It looked forlorn and had an ominous feeling about it. All I could think was I am going to be living here for a month. I took a deep breath and headed in.

"We have all of your necessary belongs inside," said my guide to my right. He pulled the door open and held if for me. I stepped in. The first thing I realized was how dark it was. It practically was a haunted house.

"Who are the other four?" I asked.

"Derek, Nicole, John, and Sam." He replied. Oh joy, boys. Maybe the girl will be nice

My guide lead me up rickety stairs to a hallway. Three doorways lined either side. He took me to the last one on the right. Inside, a baby blue comforter laid on a creaky bed. My suitcase sat on a chair in the corner of my room. Heavy, red curtains hung at the two windows. I knew it was going to take some getting used to. The guide bid goodbye and I was all alone.

"Hey," I heard a male voice behind me. I spun around. A fifteen year old teen stood behind me. He had long black hair and a red streak in front. He was tall and had piercing black eyes.

"Hi I'm Renee Leewood," I said putting my hand out. I waited for him to shake it, but he caught me off guard. He grabbed my shoulders and threw me to the wall. He kicked the door shut. "What the heck are you doing?" I screeched and ripped his arms off me. He said nothing. He just stared at my eyes. He was scaring me. I kept clawing at his arms with terror rattling inside me. He wouldn't budge.

"You haven't started," he simply said. I froze and waited for him to explain. He released me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You're not insane yet. Dr. Argon said tomorrow it begins. I was just checking because they said you didn't get the pill the same times as us." I nodded. My heart still pounded. He looked around embarrassed. "I didn't mean to scare you."

"How did you know I'm not insane?" I asked trying to make him comfortable, but failed because he seemed to get more self conscience.

"I'm able to read what people are feeling if I can look into their eyes. I grabbed you in case you were already insane." I shivered realizing I would be the last to become insane. At least I would know the effects. "Do you want to meet everyone else?"

"Sure," I replied not knowing what was coming next and dreading tomorrow
