Ruby giggled. "Ruby is fine, Kuwabara."

Kuwabara's cheeks turned red for a moment, which made Miyuki narrow her eye at him before hitting him with her elbow.

"Anyways," Ruby took off her pointe-shoes. "I'll see you guys at dinner."

"I won't be there for the evening."

Kuwabara and Ruby turned to Miyuki with a frown. That's when they noticed the casual streetwear she had, along with a cap and facemask, and the schoolbag on her back.

"You're going somewhere?" Kuwabara asked.

"I'll be dropping off some of our assignments to Takenaka." Miyuki sighed. "I'll get something on my way to work."

"Huh?" Kuwabara's brows shot up. "You have a job?"

"Hn," Miyuki turned on her heels. "I'll be back by eleven."

The other two stared at her as she walked toward the gates and then down to the stairs.

"So, is there something you need, Kuwabara?"

Kazuma's face turned pink again as he looked in Ruby's direction. "Um, well..."

He hung his head low before showing his palm which was covered with crimson stains and cuts.

Ruby sighed at the sight of them.

"Come here..." She gently took his hand into hers and led him to the pond, not once noticing the goofy smile that formed on his lips.

"Here, sir"

"Thank you Miss Urameshi..." Mr. Takenaka carefully took the assignments. "I apologize also for the inconvenience."

"It's alright sir," Miyuki said as she sat across his desk with her bandaged arms crossed over her chest. "Anyone can get sick, even the best students like Keiko."

"Yes..." While examining the schoolwork, Takenaka couldn't help but steal a few glimpses from his student.

The bandages, the plaster on the side of her cheek, and the cast on her arm. Not only that, she was wearing a cap, a blue tank top, and a black oversized jacket with a hood on it. A completely unusual image from the clean and professional-looking student he was used to seeing in his every day.

Takenaka cleared his throat and then examined the papers again. "I have to admit, this new change was quite the surprise, to say the least."
