"Ahem!"

Kurama and Miyuki quickly pulled away, only to see a grumpy-looking Yusuke with his arms crossed and feet thumping.

Not only that, but Botan was behind him in her Spirit Form. Her hands covered her mouth, and pink eyes shone like the stars in the night sky.

Miyuki facepalmed. I don't get paid enough for this shit.

"I'll see you around, I guess." With a wave, she walked away.

But as the Detectives and Botan left, and Kurama returned to his mother, a smirk materialized on Hiei's face.

He was at the docks, far away, but saw everything with the help of his third eye, the Jagan.

Their mistakes were simple ones. Hiei thought. Gouki's was overconfidence and Kurama's sympathy for his human prey.

His Jagan pulsed with a purple aura, but it also let out tiny shock waves that were colored black.

I certainly won't make the same mistakes. He drew out the Shadow Sword. My plan is too good for that.

Hiei brought the blade close, reflecting his unwavering crimson eyes perfectly. It's better this way. The other two wouldn't have the courage to use the weapons as they intended.

But first...

Hiei examined the small town ahead.

I'll kill Yusuke and Miyuki Urameshi!

He jumped into the air and slashed with his sword before fading into the night.

The early morning sun cast a warm glow over the school's rooftop where the Urameshi twins and Botan had gathered. Yusuke leaned casually against the protective fence, while the two girls sat on top of the entrance. Miyuki, positioned close to the outer edge, with her book in hand, and back turned toward Botan.

"I'm still having nightmares about that Gouki guy and most nights I don't even dream," Yusuke rubbed his cheek. "I got to say though, your hand thing really worked through in the end. Without that trick, I'd be limping around for six more months."

"They're just basic healing powers," Botan said. "All the good Spirit Detectives' assistance have them practiced in case of an emergency."
