One last stretch before acknowledgeing daylight and with it, our morning routine. Finn groaned in his sleep, ignoring my repeated attempts to wake him. He's workday starts three hours from now, but I was hoping for some cuddling before my workday officially started.
We never got to meet with Medusa yesterday as she had other plans apparently. Finn had telephonically set up a meeting between her and myself for dinner this evening. I was inwardly hoping she wouldn't cause me any indigestion. At least Finn would act as go-between. Perhaps I should say referee instead.
Personally I don't think mizzz Braden could be of much help, but I promised Finn. Heading downstairs, I made a pitstop in the bathroom, then grabbed a cup of coffee from Mae in the kitchen. She'd prepared a gourmet breakfast again, mostly because she knew Finn stayed over. "Mae, at this age, do I really have to question your loyalty?"
"Son, my loyalty is not in question. It's yours. You've been keeping Finn to yourself long enough. He an I have things to discuss. When he's ready for breakfast, I'll prepare the coffee, so it's hot and he'll sit with me because you have clients to see. Go now go.go go."
"Mae, you and Finn binge watching tele novellas isn't working out for me. Last night all he talked about was Love Destiny this and the Bride of Naga that. If you weren't sleeping by the time we came back from our movie he probably would've watched with you again. Date night is my night Mae." " Son, are you going to deprive your mother of spending time with her future son-in-law? Besides, they're called lakorns, not tele novellas."
"He's got to be my partner first before you can claim him. " "Should I do apple pie again..... Or do you have other ways to make it happen?"
"Mae" said a sleepy Finn coming downstairs. "We missed you last night. Did you watch the lastest episode? Tell me what happened?"
Finn walked over to me and slipped his arms around my waist, planting a *chaste, but sweet kiss on my lips. "Morning babe, you have a client this morning?" "I've got someone coming in for a consultation, thereafter I have a hour free before my next client. Is there something you need hun ?" "Nope. I'm gonna hang with Mae. I'll pop in before I leave, indicating towards the shop with a nod.
"I'm losing out to my mother. I've got to step up my boyfriend winning attempts." "I'm helping you son," said my mother way too sweetly. "You two think you guys are funny..." "We are son, right Finn?" "Absolutely Mae," Finn said hugging Mae and at the same time blowing me a kiss. "Off to work now with you, teerak."
The giggling duo sat down for breakfast and tele novellas, I mean lakorns, while I headed to my tatoo parlour for a morning consultation.
The morning sped by. Finn popped in for a few minutes before heading to work. "I'll see you tonight at the bar. Sammy and I will meet you at six, okay?" "Sure."
Four more appointments and my workday was finally done. I had a quick shower and headed off to the bar. I arrived before Finn and his work partner and opted for a beer while I waited.
Finn and Sammy arrived promptly at six. We ordered another round of beers and scrutinized the menu. The selection wasn't large so we settled for burgers, fries and sodas., which we ate in silence.
Once the table was cleared Finn opened the conversation. "Sammy tell Yok your suspicions on Danai. " " Is he going to scream bloody murder at me again? Just remember you requested this meeting. Before I tell you anything Yok, I want your reassurances that you'll also share information with me. If you don't allow me to do the story then this conversation is pointless. "
"I will respect and honour your wishes, for Finn's sake, because he repeatedy vouched for you and because you may be privvy to more information than I am. Should I start or will you?"
