If you were the last vampire on earth... it would be enough. Just you and me. Me and you. YOU AND ME!
"You, my love, are beauty itself"

I entered the kitchen one morning, determined to get my old life back...
"I've been thinking-"
I looked up and saw Claudia, sat around the kitchen table with Louis, while Lestat took blood jars out of the fridge and started to pour three glasses.
"Well that only ends badly" Lestat muttered
I chuckled, bringing attention to myself, and all three of the vampires looked at me.
Claudia held a glimmer in her eyes as she smiled, Louis looked shocked and Lestat just smiled, giving nothing major away about his shock.
"My love" he said as I walked up to him "I missed you" he spoke
I smiled as he peppered a few kisses onto the side of my head, as he continued pouring the glasses.
"I will take one" I said as I glanced at his task "if that's alright"
"Of course, my love!" Lestat said "Go sit with the others, Claudia has been thinking apparently" he mocked
She scoffed as I came and sat next to the two of them at the kitchen table.
"Thinking?" I repeated and Claudia nodded, quickly
"I think we should host a Madi Gras party" she said
I looked at her... open mouthed and confused
"A Mardi Gras party?" I repeated "A group of vampires.... A party?"
"Yes! It will be such fun" she said
I didn't immediately want to shut her down, she looked so happy with her suggestion and to my surprise Louis looked apprehensive but onboard with the idea as well.
"And.... Why?" I asked "you know what happened last time a party was hosted inside these walls" I said as I glanced at Louis
"But I think we can all use some fun" she said
I looked away from Louis with a sigh.
"Claudia you're not just suggesting this for me, are you?" I asked
Her smile faulted but she pushed it to stay non the less "everything I do is for your benefit Mama, I promise" she spoke
The words caught me off guard
I looked at her face and I felt myself unconsciously trying to read her. Her words... they confused me.
"Anyway, I just think it would be nice- the town isn't exactly... accommodating of us and I think that should change" Claudia moved on the conversation
"I'm not sure, jeune fille...." I muttered
(Young one)
"Come on, mama, it will be fun" she said
I hadn't been correcting her usage of Mother for a while. I decided that if she wanted to view me as her Mother then I should let her... it was her way of coping with loosing her own and God knew I understood her after what happened to me the month prior.
"There will have to be a Madi Gras King..." Louis spoke up "I thought maybe Lestat would want that job" he said
Lestat walked over to us with the goblets of blood before he sat next to me.
He slung an arm over my shoulder as he sipped his drink
"I would never cast away an opportunity for theatrics" Lestat said
I looked between the theee of them before I sighed
"Fine, ok, yes- we can have a party" I said
Claudia squealed while Louis smiled
"But- no one can go upstairs... not in my art studio and certainly not in our bedroom. I know humans can be very stupid, so they might not find the switch to our coffin room... but I don't want to take any chances" I said
I barely got the words out before Lestat stood to go and work on designs for his outfit, Claudia bounced out of her seat in excitement and Louis stood... hopefully to go and make a blockade for the stairs.
They all filed out of the kitchen leaving me with my thoughts.
"Everything I do is for your benefit Mama"
The words played inside my head before i shook it and stood. I was overly emotional, exhausted after a month of grieving and I was reading into things to much.
That had to be it.
I pushed my chair in as I walked to the sink intending to wash up my glass of blood.
That had to be it.... I was exhausted, I needed some rest, I-
"Everything Mama.... Everything"
The words this time were not said by me.... Claudia was repeating herself through our mind link- I knew I sensed something in her words and she was making sure to solidify her vow.
