I walked back into our house just before the sun started to poke its head through the clouds.
The second I closed the front door behind me Lestat could be heard walking to the top of the stairs having spent the few hours without me, probably, inside our coffin.
I gave him nothing more than a glance before I walked through to the kitchen.
I walked over to the cupboard before I started to put somethings away i had bought from a market stall that was setting up outside for the day.
"Mi amour?" I heard Lestat say from behind me
I continued to place the food into the cupboards.
"Mi amour why have you brought food- we do not eat this-" Lestat started before I tuned to him
"You said you loved me?" I say to him with a monotone expression
He wet his lips before he nodded
"I do" he said
"Then you will change for me as I changed for you" I said as I tuned back to the cupboard
He did not answer for a while, probably contemplating whether to except my terms for returning or not
"Yes, mi amour." he spoke in a low voice
I closed my eyes as I paused.
"I want to believe you.... But I'm not sure that I do" I whispered as I shut the door
Suddenly he was by my side placing his hands on my arms
"Tell me what you want me to do- and I will do it" He said
I looked in his eyes and I could see the man I first fell in love with- the way he looked at me with love like I used to see every time he would visit me.
I licked my lips before I moved over to the brown bags on the side- ones that previously held groceries I had deposited into the kitchen.
"I'm not asking you to change drastically- you can still have your lovers... it seems only fair considering I knew what I was getting myself into when I met you and you were with Nicky." I said "But I want some things to change."
I started to screw up the paper bags before walking over to the garbage
"I want an art studio" I breathed "I feel as if our house is only yours. You decided everything to do with it from our coffin shape to the location we chose to live in... I understand it was because you wanted to live close to Louis, but it doesn't make it any less my home" I said as I turned to him
He lent against the kitchen table, a thing I had never really payed attention to before. I doubted Lestat and I had even really been in the Kitchen before.
I looked up from his hands on the edge of the table to his eyes, i saw the way his muscles were tensed as he kept himself up right. I made sure to trail my eyes up his body- reminding myself how he could easily break me, but he never would.
"Anything else?" He asked as my eyes met his
I crossed my arms over my chest
"I want you to do a better job at keeping up our facade... I don't want Louis questioning what we are anymore- I want others certain that we are humans and nothing more" I said "That's why I stocked the cupboards" I inform him "If we are humans then we must have food... or at least appear to have food in the kitchen if anyone looks inside" I tell him
"You were always a smart one" Lestat said as he moved towards me once again and a smile took over his features.
He ran his hands up and down my arms that I kept crossed over my chest
