The majority of French vampires, as i had discovered, all lived in the same coven.

On our walk to the cemetery the vampire had explained it to me.

"Mais il doit y en avoir d'autres qui ne sont pas dans la couverture. Comme toi, tu ne l'es pas" I said

(There must be others not in the covern though. Like you- you are not)

"pouah, je t'avais prévenu que ton cerveau humain pourrait ne pas être capable de comprendre les méthodes complexes des vampiriques." He said back

(ugh, i warned you that your human brain may not be able to comprehend the complicated vampiric ways)

" me prenez pour un stupide Lestat, mais je ne le suis pas du tout. Je t'aide maintenant, n'est-ce pas?"

(You take me as stupid Lestat, but i am anything but. I am helping you out now am i not?)

It was clear that the blonde was intrigued by my humanness yet my knowledge on vampires alongside my collectedness unnerved him. I was certain he had not met a human with more knowledge of his own kind than him and I was happy to use that to my advantage while also learning about the things I could not access- like where the covens of vampires had been hiding for the three years I had been searching for them.

We entered the cemetery. I remembered going there when i was younger. I then remember thinking how it would never be the same to me anymore now i knew a coven of vampires lived underneath it.

"And how are you helping me? So far you have just walked me here" He said in annoyance

"Here" I said in order to cut off his complaining.

"A cross?" He asked as he looked up and saw the symbol on the top of the church that i pointed at "We don't have the time to pray to your pathetic Gods" he started with a roll of his eyes

I was quiet until he looked back at me.

"What?" He asked as he saw my annoyed expression

"Take the cross down" I said

"And then what?" He asked

"Oh la la, i am not spelling it out to you- You're a vampire thespian for God sake figure it out" I said as I walked up to the doors of the crypt.

"So that's it... that's your help and now you are going to use my own love against me and barge into their coven while he is trapped inside to fulfil your own quest?" He called

I turned back to him, but i kept walking backwards inside the building.

"Well considering you tried to drink my blood and got my clothes all bloody I'd say i can do what i like and I'm using you just as you tried to use me as your food" I said "You'll figure out what to do. Treat it like a show, a final performance in the saga of stealing your Prince back... see you inside."

I smiled as i saw his eyes start to lighten at the idea.

I turned around as the heavy doors of the crypt shut behind me and darkness overcame the space. Silence overtook the noise Lestats complaining held and it was quiet.

I heard the soft, slow music, flowing up the old stone stairs, before I saw the shadows from their candles dancing on the walls.

I followed it- the sound- until it took me to them.

Sitting around a large alter, with a man I had seen before sat at its head, I saw the Paris coven all look towards me as I slowly descended the stairs. My feet hitting the ground as the blood, dried and crusting, sat along the side of my neck from where Lestat had tried to drink from me the hour before.
