Part Two Chapter Twenty-Nine

"Wha- what kind of bargain is that??? You're saying if I don't help you, you'll leave me like this and get me arrested?! Even if I didn't have something important going on, I'd never be desperate enough to agree to that terrible offer!"

"Hm? What do you have going on? A big heist with a band of thieves?"

"No!!! If you must know I'm on a mission!" Chili Pepper Cookie revealed "I came to this island with a friend and we're looking for some Cookies- or, aliens I guess, I don't know!"

"Aliens??" Francisca questioned. Before she could interrogate Chili Pepper Cookie further, she heard someone calling out to her and running over to the two of them.

"Stop!!! Stop!! She's with me!!" a short young Cookie with mango colored hair yelled as he ran up to Chili Pepper Cookie, the thief letting out a relieved sigh upon seeing her friend approaching.

"Chili Pepper Cookie! There you are! I take my eyes off of you for one minute and I find you- Woah!"

The little Cookie backed up a bit upon fully seeing Francisca, still floating slightly above Chili Pepper Cookie.

"Heyyy, Mango Cookie! Here to save me from my kidnapper?"

Francisca scoffed. "I'd hardly call this a kidnapping, I was merely preventing a burglary is all."

Mango Cookie's brow furrowed. "Oh dear, Chili Pepper Cookie, what did you do?"

"I didn't do anything! I was just keeping myself occupied while you were searching the residential parts of this island!"

"She tried to rob two tourists." Francisca bluntly revealed.

The youngster, Mango Cookie apparently, brought his hand to his forehead. "Chili Pepper Cookie..."

"What? It was just some mild pickpocketing! Nothing worth getting my legs frozen over!"

"(*Sigh*) I'm sorry for her, she loves to steal things that contain coins or anything shiny. I would really appreciate it if you didn't arrest her though."

"Oh no, I'm not the island's officer, I just happened to be nearby and saw that someone was causing trouble so I decided to put a stop to it."

"Ah, well thank you for stopping my friend before she got herself into worse trouble! I swear it's like she wants the bounty on her head to grow higher."

"Hehe, you've got it." Chili Pepper chuckled, resuming jabbing at the ice with her daggers.

"Anyway... I'm Mango Cookie! I'm kind of a guide around these parts."

That was good info for Francisca to learn, she definitely needed a guide to help her navigate the islands if she wanted to find her family and friends.

"Nice to meet you Mango Cookie, my name is Francisca."

Mango Cookie's face lit up. "Wait... you're Francisca?"

"Uh, yes. That's what I just said."

A delighted smile grew on Mango Cookie's face. "Hold on!" he reached into his pocket and pulled out some kind of posters. He shuffled through a few of them before finding the exact ones he was looking for, his smile growing as he looked at them, then back at Francisca.

"It is you! You're one of Kirby's friends!"

"(*Gasp!*) Wait, you know Kirby?!"
