Chapter 11: The Cosmic Jester
It took a bit traversing through some forests, crossing the bridge over to Dragon Hill and trekking up north through its woods a bit- plus Kirby had to stop for a quick snack break- but eventually the party was able to reach the place where Knight Cookie and Princess Cookie had supposedly seen Marx. The area was a nice meadow on a light green hill, not too far from the meadow was a mysterious forest.
"Okay," Knight Cookie started saying "this is about where we had our encounter with your friend."
"We had heard rumors of treasure nearby," Princess Cookie explained to Kirby and Bandana Dee "We didn't find anything, but since we weren't far from the Cookie Kingdom we thought we could pay GingerBrave and others a visit."
Kirby fixed his cutter ability hat, then looked around the area. It was filled with large plants and many types of flowers, as well as a few mushrooms.
"Where exactly did you see him?" he asked.
Knight Cookie pointed at a large orange mushroom, the mushroom being large enough for someone to hide behind. "It was around sunset when we decided to finally stop exploring for the day, and as we were leaving, he popped out from behind this mushroom and surprised us."
"It's also where Knight Cookie smacked him in the face with his lance." Princess Cookie added.
"Yes, they are very aware of that my Princess."
Bandana Dee investigated the mushroom a bit. "If that was yesterday, then he's probably elsewhere by now."
Kirby nodded, looking a little worried. "Hope he's not too far..."
GingerBrave walked up to Kirby, kneeled down and gave him a pat on the back.
"Don't worry, if he was here, he's probably not far from Dragon Hill." He reassured the pink puff "Heh, wouldn't it be funny if he's at the same place where we found you?"
Kirby looked up at GingerBrave and smiled. "That would be funny."
Knight Cookie walked up to the mushroom, took another look at it, then turned his back to it. "Odds are, he'll be there, or lost in some woods. Regardless of where he's at, hopefully he's alright."
"I'D BE BETTER IF YOU WOULD ALL BE QUIET!!!!"
Everyone- with the exception of Kirby- let out a frightened scream upon hearing the sudden yelling, Knight Cookie quickly pulling out his lance and turning around to see who had suddenly popped up. Kirby on the other hand, smiled widely upon seeing who it was.
It was Marx! He had been turned into a Cookie as well, with the most notable changes being that his eyes lacked any black pupils and the white highlights looking a bit stary, his mouth was just an outline, yet he still had his signature white fangs, his shoes looked more like bread sticks than usual, and the bobble tips of his hat slightly looked like they were made of cotton balls. He also smelled a bit like grapes, likely having been turned grape flavored.
"Wah! Hey! Don't hit me in the face again!!" Marx cried out upon seeing Knight Cookie's lance. Looking away from it though, his face lit up upon seeing a certain pink puff.
"Marx!!!" Kirby exclaimed, jumping up and down from joy.
"Kirby!! You're here!"
Marx then jumped over the mushroom and started running circles around Kirby. Kirby happily giggling as he did so.
Princess Cookie smiled from seeing this, then turned to Knight Cookie. "Knight Cookie, put your weapon away." she ordered.
Knight Cookie initially hesitated, but soon complied and put his lance away.
