Chapter 28: Time For Take Off

If it weren't for the fact that the team had to wake up early, Kirby would have slept in for as long as he could so he could spend as much time in the World of Dreams as possible. However, the team had to depart for the Vanilla Kingdom today, and thus had to get up early to both leave on time, as well as say goodbye to some of the Cookies in the kingdom.

For Kirby, it was extra important for him to get up early, so he could have enough time to talk to Olive Cookie about Spelltwister Cookie's staff, which is why he didn't complain when Dedede shook him awake that morning.

"You sure you'll be alright carrying this by yourself, especially with those tiny arms?" Dedede questioned as he zipped up the golf bag the staff was contained in and handed it to Kirby.

"Don't worry, I've carried heavier things after all!" Kirby reminded the king "Plus Adeleine or GingerBrave might offer to help me carry it."

Dedede shrugged a bit, a half smile on his face as he did so. He then handed the golf bag to Kirby, who carefully took hold of it.

(Are you excited, Spelltwister Cookie?) Kirby innocently thought for Spelltwister Cookie to hear.

..Hm...

The tone in Spelltwister Cookie's voice sounded salty, she was clearly still displeased about other Cookies inspecting her staff. Kirby paid no mind though and turned to look at Elfilin, still asleep on the bed that Kirby was sitting on.

"Should I help wake up Magolor and Elflilin before I go meet with Adeleine and the others?"

"Nah, no need for that." Dedede told him "They both can have a few more minutes of rest before we need to get ready to go."

"Really? Even Magolor?"

"Normally no, but that loon appears to have stayed up extremely late last night, if the mess in the kitchen is any indication." the king pointed out, reflecting on how one of the first things he saw when he woke up in the morning was a pile of kettles and other types of cooking pots cluttered together in the kitchen sink. "So I'll let him sleep in for a few more minutes."

Kirby peaked up at the top bunk Magolor was sleeping on, managing to see that he was all bundled up and sleeping like a log. "Good idea."

"Mhm, as for Elfilin, he's still recovering from his cold so he should get as much rest as possi- oh never mind, he's waking up on his own."

Little Elfilin was indeed at that moment, waking up on his own. Kirby was worried that he and Dedede had woken him up due to the volume of their voices, so he prepared himself to apologize to his little buddy.

"Mmmrrr, huh? Kirby? Is it morning?" Elfilin groggily yawned.

"Yep, good morning Elfilin. Did we wake you up? I'm sorry."

Elfilin's nose started twitching like crazy. "No you didn't wake me up, I- ah...Ahhh... ACHOOO!!!!!!"

That huge sneeze Elfilin let out was immediately followed by several more sneezes, causing both Kirby and Dedede to panic as poor Elfilin tried his best to cover his face as he kept sneezing.

"Wahhh! Dedede!!!! Get a tissue!!!!"

"On it!!!" Dedede bolted over to the box of tissues on the table and brought the whole thing over to Elfilin and Kirby's bed, pulling out a tissue and handing it to Elfilin.

Upon receiving the tissue, Elfilin managed to seize his sneezing for a moment as he blew into the tissue.

"(*Sniff*) T-thanks guys, sorry about that." he panted once he was done blowing his nose "Man that smell was so overwhelming..."
