Chapter 13: Royal Rest
It was around early afternoon when the team finally made it back to the Cookie Kingdom, Kirby filling Dedede and the Waddle Dee trio in on some important information along the way. Kirby also decided to drop his cutter ability, it turning into a star before fading away.
"So Elfilin's sick huh?" Dedede asked once Kirby finished telling him about that "That's not good, hope he gets better."
"If only we had Doctor Waddle Dee with us, they'd cure Elfilin in no time! And give him delicious candy afterwards." said the smallest Waddle Dee
Bandana Dee shook his head. "No you're thinking of Nurse Waddle Dee, Doctor Waddle Dee just makes their patients ingest a bunch of pills."
"Oh, that's right. Why do they do that... that's sometimes more lethal than the colds they cure!"
King Dedede chuckled, then turned his attention to Kirby. "Anything else we should know about Kirby?"
"Ummmm... (I should tell him about the staff, but I don't know if it's safe to talk about it in front of others yet... I definitely should tell him about it later though, considering how we're using his golf bag to carry it. He's gonna be really mad when he find out we lost the golf balls...) Just a bit of info on the kingdom, though I think GingerBrave would be better at telling you about that."
"Sure, I'd gladly fill him in on the kingdom!" GingerBrave piped up. "We've got plenty of facilities that might be to your liking, plenty of food for you to eat, and lots of helpful Sugar Gnomes!"
"Ooh yeah, tell me more about the Sugar Gnomes." Dedede requested "They sound like hard workers like my Waddle Dees."
GingerBrave happily agreed and by the time the team had reached the entryway to the kingdom, he had shared almost every fact about Sugar Gnomes he knew.
"Wow!!!" went one of the Waddle Dees "Great King, this place is almost prettier than our kingdom!"
King Dedede was very surprised hearing one of his own subjects say that. "W-well, our kingdom is magnificent too! ...It is nice though, I won't deny. (That castle... it's so majestic.)"
"Heh, you should see our kingdom sometime!" Princess Cookie offered "It's got a grand market and lots of fruit!"
"Wait, you're not the Princess of this kingdom?" Dedede asked.
"No, we're from the Hollyberry Kingdom." Knight Cookie clarified. "We were just visiting."
"Alright, then who's the royal in charge of this one?"
"GingerBrave! You're back!" Custard Cookie III called out, waving to his friend.
Before he ran up to him and the team, he called out to the group behind him "Hey! Everyone! GingerBrave and Kirby are back!"
A second later, Custard Cookie III ran up to the team, along with Strawberry Cookie, Wizard Cookie, and Adeleine, who was carrying Eflilin.
"Kirby! You're back! (*Gasp!*) And you found Dedede!!" Adeleine joyfully exclaimed as she ran up to the Great King and gave him a high five, Dedede chuckling as he high fived her back.
"Heheh! Hey Adeleine! Great to see you! You changed quite a bit I see."
Adeleine nodded "Yeah, I'm getting used to this look though. But you look great!"
Dedede smiled "Thanks!" he then looked down at Elfilin "Hello Elfilin, how are you feeling?"
Elfilin coughed a little. "Okay, better than earlier."
