She paid it no mind though, and decided to rest her eyes. It was best to enjoy such pleasures and relaxation while she could, and nothing was going to stop her.
If someone did, they would join her ice sculpture collection.
One interruption that was allowed however, was the sound of tiny little footsteps approaching her. She opened her eyes and saw the Coconutian waiter arriving with more pineapple juice.
"Here you are madame!" the Coconutian waiter happily told her, holding up the tray so she could take her drink.
"Thank you." said Francisca, gently taking the coconut cup from the tray and taking a sip, once she was done she let out another delighted sigh "And thank you again for letting me stay here, it is quite lovely."
"Of course! Glad we could provide some assistance given your circumstances, plus we owe you for the ice you provided. If you need me or any of my fellow Coconutians for anything, just let us know."
"Mm, sweet little things. I do have some questions actually, last night you mentioned this island is part of an archipelago, correct?"
"Yep! The Tropical Soda Islands to be precise.~" the Coconutian waiter confirmed "Each island is named after a fruit, usually the one it shares a shape with."
"I see, and you said this island is called Starfruit Island?"
"Yes! Because it's shaped just like a star!"
"How fitting." Francisca giggled.
"It used to be called Star Jelly Island, but in honor of one of our most esteemed guests, Starfruit Cookie, and also because of the abundance of starfruit that grows here that we use to make our special starfruit sodas, we changed it to Starfruit Island. So now it's not an odd one out amongst all the other fruit named islands."
"Heh, well that's good. So is this place a resort? I'd assume so given you mentioned you get lots of guests and you seem to have a little business going on here."
"Sort of." the Coconutian explained "It used to be a lot bigger, but due to an unfortunate incident that occurred a few years ago, we had to scale back a bit to smaller venues, like those huts you stayed in with us."
Francisca sat up a bit. "Incident? What happened?"
The Coconutian pointed to something behind her. "See that jungle behind you? It used to lead to the highlight- or rather, star feature, hehe- of our island. Our beautiful resort, complete with wonderful fruit trees, adorable birds to watch and sing with, and a really nice fountain right at the center. And the most astonishing part, it was all built into an incredible crater, likely made from a fallen star that used to be there.
"Ooh, sounds fancy. Did something to the resort?"
"Yep. Flood." the Coconutian said bluntly.
"Ah." Francisca nodded "That's unfortunate."
"It was, practically everything got destroyed! Including this sweet popsicle stand I used to love... (*Sigh.*) Now there's nothing there but a giant lake where it used to be."
"I'm sorry that happened, believe me I know what it's like to lose something important in your life..."
"It's okay. On the bright side not everything was destroyed. Ironically, due to how it was elevated and built, the one part that's still standing is the fountain! So now there's just a fountain right at the center of the lake, as if it needed more water, heh."
Francisca chuckled slightly. "I suppose that is rather humorous."
"It does make for an interesting attraction for tourists to look at! The lake itself had already become a nice view in the resort's place, there being a fountain at the center just adds to it." the Coconutian added "The tourists definitely find it fascinating."
