I class that as painting number two that I still own because its memory is still vivid. I kept a spot reserved for it if it ever found its way back into our household.

Three: Last but not least my studio wall held a painting of my Sister. It was how I remembered her, how i had left her before i moved to Paris. In it she was wearing the exact dress she wore to my wedding... the same 1800s dress with lace covered sleeves.

I kept my eyes on hers for a while. What would she say if she saw me now I remember wondering...if she knew what i was and that I had done it for her.

My thoughts didn't last long before they were interrupted.

The heavy wooden door to the room slowly opened and i felt a presence behind me.

They didn't say a word as we examined the paintings before us.

It was quiet apart from the soft music that still filtered through the halls from the room across the house.

"These are beautiful" Louis whispered out

I continued glancing forward as i spoke

"Thank you" I said, flatly "I once had a collection of over sixty.. but these are the two most important to me" I said with a fond smile "Although i am missing one"

It was quiet again

"Is that girl your sister?" He asked suddenly

I glanced over my shoulder, to catch his eye, as i saw his hand pointing to a painting

"Yes... she was born in 1765 and she was 13 when i first moved back to France" I said "That's my last memory of her" I said fondly

"When did she... when did she die?" Louis asked

I gave a tight lipped smile to the ground before i span around to face the vampire who stood behind me, fully

"I do not know... she is the first family member i lost contact with after i met Lestat" I said, honestly, knowing that Louis would probably add it to the mental list of reasons why i should have left my fiancé along while ago.

Surprisingly, however, Louis did not mention his obvious disapproval and instead fired back another question straight away

"And how did you meet Lestat?" He asked

I stuttered on my words for a second, realising that he never actually knew our story.

After a minute i spoke "We met in Paris.. along while ago. Back when he was with someone else... back when i was sick" I started

"I spent the rest of the night talking him through our story, however Louis formed an interesting perspective from it all." I admit to Molloy "Where i saw loving glances and flirtatious visits, Louis saw devilish eyes and stalking tendencies." I sighed "Louis never understood Lestat the way i did... he sort to make me out as the victim, someone who didn't know what they were getting themselves into when i asked to be turned, but the truth is i knew what i wanted and that was Lestat. I was no victim to him... if anything, through most of his time grieving Nicky, i was the strong one, i was the one in control... i was the predator if Louis wanted to find one" I said

"Over the next few months the three of us co-existed quite easily. For the most part Louis avoided Lestat and i would often find myself as the rag doll in the middle, however i could also feel the occasional feeling of lust between the two of them.

Honestly, it never bothered me. To me Louis wasn't just another one of Lestats potential one night stands, Louis was part of our family. I told Lestat how i felt about it, i told him that they could sleep together if they wished however i had no interest in bedding Louis myself... still to this day i am not sure if they ever did spend some afternoons together, but it doesn't keep me up at night- they still avoided each other and openly hated the other so i didn't feel threatened for my spot as lady of the house or anything" I chuckled to myself

"I even took the time to start researching about my family. Now that i wasn't filling my days with keeping an eye on Lestats affairs, I had more time on my hands... I learnt my sister had died in 1832 and that she hadn't had any children." My voice grows quieter as i recall it "It was a dark day when i realised i had no direct family left" I trailed off

Rachel glances at me as i wipe a hand over the big book in front of me.

"I would eventually travel to their family home ... they had moved to Germany when they forgot about me, however when i finally locate them i would come across pages and pages of photographs... some distant cousins still lived in the same old house my family used to and I once swiped the book of history without them even remembering they had seen me" I say "It sits on this table now" I finish as i look at the book fondly.

It's quiet before Daniel remind us of his presence and sighs, full of boredom.

"Everything seemed to be going ok in the Lioncourt household, and that is all good and well, Victoria, however I've heard about your complicated relationship with Lestat many times" He says

My eyes snap to his as i raise my eyebrow. Poking the beast isn't very wise i thought to myself.

"I asked to interview you because i want to know how you handled Lestats death, how you mended yourself after the years you felt happy in your little home" He said plainly.

The flatness of the question shocked me. I felt as if the question had actually poked me like a sharp needle piercing skin.

"Well that happened later, i thought you might want to hear about my family first- how i first met Rachel- how i knew her parents long before she was born-"

Suddenly Molloy places his papers down

"I know when someone is stalling Victoria" He says "And i let you... i let you inform me on the early parts of your life with Lestat, however i am already fully aware of what happened after Louis joined your family" He said

I raised an eyebrow at him before he sighed

"Louis joined your family, after that his family turned on him- he wasn't aging, he was only showing his face at night- then his businesses started to fail. People started to turn further on non white folks and Louis's business was shut down. Then along came Claudia..." Molloy hesitated at that "How did you find the new addition to the family?" He asked me

I just glared at him

"So you skip my story and yet you ask me about details i was intending to give my account on later?" I ask

He shrugs

I sigh

"Fine, if it makes you leave my house quicker i will play your little skip ahead game... but I don't like it" I growl "But when it comes to Claudia we start from the beginning of her story... it's only fair on her and her memory" I say quieter

I glance at Molloy and he nods, agreeing reluctantly

I clear my throat before i begin from the point i had intended to save for a little while longer.
