Have they offended the frigid fiends from ice cellar 4444 by occupying the elevator? If they wanted to ride, they could have done so from the ground floor and they could have stepped aside for them whole-heartedly! What crazy people uses the elevator starting from the sixteenth floor?!

They couldn't not complain in their hearts! Injustice!

Fernis straightened his posture. Sensing the motion, all heads whipped to the side only to focus on Fernis with horrified expressions.

The hearts screaming injustice wilted quickly and started quivering.

Fernis, "..."

Gazef, "..."

Chen WangZhi's mouth twitched, "..."

If he didn't end up in his current team, he wouldn't be able to farm his courage and probably end up as wary as the others.

Yu Yan couldn't take this anymore and tried to remedy the situation by flashing a sweet but business-like smile, taking a step forward, and tilting his head to the side to come off as cute and friendly—harmless even.

Unfortunately, the moment he took a step, all eyes darted to him and everyone inside the elevator tried to take step back but couldn't as if they were trapped all of a sudden and didn't consider 'forward' as potential path of escape.

Gazef couldn't help but tug the back of Yu Yan's clothes where nobody could see and shake it lightly as if to say: No no, come back, the sardines are shaking even more...

Eventually, silence enveloped the whole place.

Detecting no motion, the elevator doors closed smartly.

After a while, Chen WangZhi broke the silence, "...Walk?"

"..." Was there any other choice?

A bunch of heads looked at each other.

"Pfft—" Yu Yan couldn't help it.

Then, he and Chen WangZhi both turned their heads to the side and started a fit of laughter as if they were sharing the same last brain cell.

Yu Yan, "Did you see the look they gave Fernis? Hahaha!" 

"Who cares about Fernis—they're like lambs who saw a pervert wolf when they looked at you", Chen WangZhi laughed.

"Pants thief, pft—", Gazef snorted, turning his head away to hide his cracked expression.

"Hey!" Yu Yan complained, feeling angry and funny at the same time.

Gazef was shaking on the side, trying to hold back his laughter. Fernis, on the other hand, was looking towards the sky in a forty-five-degree angle, contemplating life. Everyone was in a cheerful mood even after completing the full forty-four flight of stairs to their shared dorm room.

"Hahahaha!" 

Only Chen WangZhi laughed openly the whole time until they reach their dorm room. 

"I-Imagine, haha, in the future they'll say, they'll say..." He paused to catch his breath, still chuckling. "They'll say, 'Legend has it that room 4444 is haunted by a ghost thief that sneaks in during the night and steals the pants of first-year students in the other dorms!' A few years later and you'll become one of the mysteries of the combat department, Yu Yan! Hahaha!"

"Mystery? I'll only settle for legendary ba~!" Yu Yan waved his hand at Chen WangZhi good-naturedly.

After freshening up, they headed toward the academy's common dining area which was separated into a few floors depending on their privilege. Those with lower rankings had to eat at the lowest floor. Although the food there was basic, it was still enticing to think about the high-end five-star food being served at the higher floors!
