"They should," she bluntly states, many of the others laughing. "Like the time that you attempted the splits during a dance battle you started." I chuckled, thinking back to that. It certainly did not end well for him, especially with it being on hardwood flooring.

He waves her off though, "I like to see it as a learning experience."

"What the fuck did you learn from that?" Kile chuckles from behind him.

"That I can't do the splits, obviously," Robin chimes as though that should be the most obvious conclusion on the damn planet. Kile bursts out laughing along with many of the others. "Okay, I want to hear embarrassing stories about Connie," Robin grins brightly, pointing a finger at Conner who groans and rolls his eyes.

"Ya, not happening."

Ashley starts to giggle though and her brother shoots her a look. "You seem to forget that I also know some lovely stories about you," she teases and he shakes his head at her with a glare but still amusement on his features. "Such as the whole spider thing."

He chuckles, tossing his head back, "In my defense, it was a big ass spider."

"No it wasn't. And either way, that doesn't warrant you to scream like a girl," she laughs, causing embarrassment to wash over his features. Everyone else and I looked at her curiously and then she started to relay the story. "In one of our old houses, we had a raised deck, similar to this house's. I can't even remember what we were doing up there but he picked something up and a spider crawled onto his hand." She chuckles evilly while looking at her brother who did not look amused, "He let out the most girly scream I have ever heard, drops, I think it was a plant-."

"Ya, it was also one of mom's favorites," Conner jumps in, wincing at the memory.

Ashley nods before continuing, "The moment that thing dropped off his hand, he leapt over the railing and went darting around the house."

Everyone's laughing while Conner glares at Ashley. Then Robin pipes up, "So you're scared of spiders?"

"It was a big ass spider. Anyone would have reacted like that if it climbed on their hand," her brother reasons but he just got shaking heads in response.

"We should totally share our fears. Do you know what Mat's scared of?" Robin pipes, gesturing over to me.

Instantly I tensed, especially when Ashley's gaze lands on me with a sinister grin. I quickly shot Robin a glare, "You better not fucking say anything."

He debates on it but then sighs, "Fine. I'm scared of flying just so everyone knows."

"Yet you seem perfectly fine with attempting it," Ruby comments, partly under her breath. She had a point, he jumps off a lot of shit.

"That is called falling, not flying," Robin states as though it's obvious. "Who's next?" Nobody seemed willing to give in so his eyes landed on Kota, pointing to him, "I know what you're scared of."

Kota rolls his eyes, "So what if I'm scared of boats. I get motion sickness from them." I noticed that similar to how Ashley and I were sitting, Harper and him were sitting, his hand around her waist.

Robin chuckles, "But they aren't even that scary." Kota flips him off in response. "Who's next?" He glances around.

Ruby sighs, "Well since it seems you're just gonna blurt out everything people are scared of, aside from Mathew, I'll just put it out there that I hate thunder."

Kile then jumps in as well, "Tornadoes. That shit is scary." He was currently tracing a finger around the rim of his glass, seeming completely out of it. Kile wasn't exactly a lightweight but when he first starts drinking, it seems to make him very calm. Then he turns into an insane idiot.

Robin beams, turning to Maya and pointing a finger, "And you... I actually don't know what you're scared of."

She chuckles, "And none of you ever will."

Robin shifts to look at Ashley, "And what about you?"

She smirks, crossing her arms over her chest, "I'm not telling. Nobody here can say anyways." We all look at Conner and he just shrugs but the look he casts Ashley makes it clear he knows. I wanted to know so badly what she was scared of and I quickly found myself playing with the sleeve of her shirt. She shivers from the contact of my skin while I found myself fascinated by hers. It was so soft and I instantly wanted to make a mark on every inch of her body.

Music starts up somewhere nearby and I was very thankful for the distraction. Ashley turned her head and I followed her motions to see that someone had started up music out here and a whole group of people were now dancing.

Ruby gasps, "Who's coming to dance with me?" She hops up to her feet, excitedly moving to the music already.

"I'll come," Tyler beams at her and her face instantly morphs into a grimace. He stands up, reaching out a hand for her and giving her a big smile which seemed to soften her spirits.

"Oh, what the fuck?" She grabs his hand, tugging him along, "Let's go." The guy looked like he had just been given the best gift ever as a big grin took his face. The two of them take off and then I see Robin, Maya and Conner go off to join them. A moment later, Kota and Harper follow, him holding her hand as he dragged her off. Now it was just Ashley, I and Kile who I quickly shot a glare.

He stares at me for a moment but was clearly too drunk to understand the fucking meaning, "Mather told me you two almost-."

"Finished our project," I quickly interrupted.

"No, you didn't tell me that..."

"Wanna go dance?" I quickly looked at Ashley.

She gave me a look before shrugging, "Fine. But you better be a good dancer."

I chuckled, "Trust me, I know how to move my body."

This look came to her eyes and I smirked, pulling her body with me as I stood up and led her to the makeshift dance floor. Pulling at her hand, I spun her into me, causing a laugh to leave her lips, "Smooth."

I grinned before spinning her out and pulling her back, using my body to lead hers, "I've been to a lot of balls and galas and whatever else over the years. You're kind of forced to learn a thing or two."

We continued to move to the music, her following my movements with ease. Every command I gave, she followed flawlessly – unlike usual.

I bobbed up and down on the pads of my feet, trying to find Ruby or literally any of the other girls. The host's parents had shown up early and they certainly were not pleased by the possibly hundreds of kids in their house. Now everyone was scurrying around, trying to get out of here before they called the cops.

I surveyed over the crowd again, muttering, "Come on. Where the fuck are you guys?" I doubted they would ditch me but yet again, Ruby was off with Tyler, Maya with her girlfriend and then there was Kota and Harper. Besides, I kind of looked like I was having the best time of my life with Mathew — not that I wasn't, dancing with him was the most fun I've had in a while.

And the way he moved. It was weirdly attractive and, for the first time ever, I could understand why girls would be obsessed with him.

"Hey."

I spun to find the man himself standing there, twirling his keys around his finger, "You're still here?"

He chuckles, "I figured I'd offer you a ride."

I blinked at him, "You were drinking. You shouldn't be driving."

"I had one drink and after all that dancing, it's out of my system."

My lips pursed before I pulled out my phone, clicking through contacts and quickly messaging everyone to tell them my change of plans.

"Look, I get it if you don't want to but just let me wait with you until-."

"No, let's go," I said, shoving my phone into my pocket. "I was just messaging everyone to tell them."

Some shock painted his expression before he smirked, "Does this mean you're starting to like me?"

I rolled my eyes and laughed, "Let's just go, dipshit."
