🌛CHAPTER 5🌜

*°Eden's POV°*

Bella and I was standing by her truck after school. "So what did Edward say? I saw you guys talking?" Bella asks, looking at me curiously, my attention however was across the parking lot, on Edward who was looking my way as well.

"Oh, we talked about the weather, and why I moved here, and why he wasn't here the last couple of days." I tell her, turning my back towards Edward, I was still confused by why he suddenly stormed off.

"So, no explanation why he was acting like a dick?" She asks, putting books into her bag.

"No, but it doesn't matter, I think he might have been on his man period." I say, Bella stares at me at first, then both of us started laughing, but our laughter got cut sort, when I saw a van heading our way, and didn't seem like it was planning to stop, not with the speed it was going at.

"I'm sorry." I quickly tell Bella, pushing her out of the way, and I didn't have time to get away. Suddenly arms wrapped around me waist, whoever's it was stretched their arm out, stopping the van.

Looking up I saw Edward, he was already staring down at me, I ended up getting dizzy, because I might have hit my head inbetween all this chaos.

"Eden!"

"Eden!"

The shouts of all the students, had Edward let go of me, jumping over the truck, walking away quickly, as if he was never near the accident, I could hear people talking, but I couldn't hear what they were saying.

When the ambulance arrived, they immediately took me to the hospital, alongside Bella and Tyler.

We were in a room, Bella and I facing each other as the nurses were doing their jobs. Chief  Swan came barging into the room. "Bella. You okay?" He asks, his attention went to Tyler. "You and I are gonna talk. You all right?" Chief asks, once infront of his daughter.

"I'm fine, Dad. Calm down." Bella says.

"Eden, you okay?" He asks me.

"Yeah, just peachy." I say, smiling.

"I'm sorry, guys. I tried to stop." Tyler says, the guilty look on his was enough to tell me, he didn't mean for any of this to happen. "It's cool Tyler." I say.

"No. It sure as hell is not cool." Chief Swan says.

"Dad, it wasn't his fault." Bella says, trying to get her dad to calm down, but it wasn't working. " Somebody could've been killed. You understand that?" He asks her.

"Yes, but nobody was, so..." Bella says, her father's attention turned towards the boy, as he says, "You can kiss your license goodbye."

The doctor finally came through the door, I couldn't believe it was a doctor at first, he was way to beautiful to be. "I heard the chief's daughter was here." He says.

"Dr. Cullen." The chief says, only than did I realise this was Edward's adoptive father.

"Charlie. I've got these two, Jackie, Anna." Dr Cullen says to the nurses, that were busy attending to us, taking the clipboards with our information on them.

"Isabella." He says, but she corrected him, "Bella."

"Well, Bella, looks like you got quite a scratch on your arm. How do you feel?" Dr Cullen asks her.

"Good."

"You just have to clean that wound regularly so that it doesn't get infected." He instructs her, turning towards me, there was a certain look in his eyes, that I just couldn't understand, it's something I wasn't familiar with.

"Eden. How do you feel?"  Dr Cullen asks.

"I feel fine, just a little...." I got cut off by yelling coming from the hallway.

"Eden! Where are you!"

The two came barging in where we were, once their eyes landed on me, they sped walk towards me, my dad grabbed my face, looking for injuries.

"Are you okay?" Derek asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Come on, I had much worse than this remember." I say, making them back up, remembering previous events. Dr Cullen's curious gaze didn't go unnoticed.

"As I was saying doctor, I feel fine just a little dizzy." I tell Edward's father, who was nodding along to every word. "Look here." He says, shining a light into my eyes, making me tear up. "You might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation, but your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma, but you might get in some rest for the dizziness, other than that, I think you'll be just fine." Doctor Cullen informs me.

"I'm so sorry, Bella, Eden. I'm really..." Tyler tries to apologize once more, but the Chief cut him off by closing the curtain.

"Is that the one that caused the accident?" Dad asks me, and I saw him clenching his jaw.

"It was no one's fault, has anyone of you considered today's weather in this little accident?" I calmly ask everyone, and by their expressions, they knew I was right.

"You know, it would've been a whole lot worse if Edward wasn't there. He was the one to save Eden." Bella speaks up, and for a split second Doctor Cullen seemed nervous.

"Edward? Your boy?" Chief asks.

"Yeah, it was amazing. I mean, he got to her so fast. He was nowhere near her, right Eden?" Bella asks, all eyes on me, making me feel a little nervous.

"No, Bella, he was already on his way to me, before everything happened." I say, I felOt sorry for lying, but if they were actually hiding something for this town, I knew what it was like to keep a secret to keep my family save. Doctor Cullen gave me relieved nod, as he says, "Sounds like you were very lucky. Charlie." Dr Cullen makes his way out of the hospital room, leaving the rest of us in silence, I was able to feel Bella glare my way, as I followed my dad and cousin.

"I'll go and sign the release papers, you two go wait by the car." Dad says, taking a turn in the other direction. Derek and I  started making our way towards the exit.

"You might wanna give Scott and Lydia a call, they were really worried when they found out." Derek points out.

"You just had to tell them, didn't you?" I ask.

"Eden, your still part of Scott's pack, he needs to know if you end up injured." Derek says.

"What about a normal reason, like, he's your friend he deserves to know." I state, Derek only rolled his eyes at me, as we got closer to the exit, I heard voices talking.

"....fifteen kids that saw what happened." Was all I heard, turns out it was Rosalie, Dr Cullen and Edward whispering to each other, I wasn't able to hear the rest, but from Derek's face I knew he heard them.

"I think we should take this in my office." The doctor says, when he noticed Derek and I looking in their direction.

"Go wait for me at the car." I state, as Edward was walking towards me. Derek gave me a skeptical look, but agreed to it anyway, making his way towards the exit.

Edward stopped right infront of me, staring me down.

"Uhm, I just want to thank you for saving me back there." I say, taking the risk, I quickly stood on my toes, leaving on his cheek, that was colder than expected. My actions did seem to shock him.

"No problem." He mutters, staring at me in confusion, I didn't blame him. "Why aren't you asking any questions?" He asks.

"Do you want me to ask questions?" I shot a question back.

"No, not really."

"Than I won't, and in any case it's none of my business anyway, so I won't push for answers, unless you tell me willingly." I told him honestly.

Just like you have secrets, I have them too. I thought to myself.

"Eden! Let's go!" Dad yells.

"I guess I'll see you on Monday, and once again, thank you." I say walking away from him, joining up with dad, who had his eyebrows raised at me, with a smirk on his face, making me roll me eyes.
