"You do realize that women normally wear dresses, right?" Dib said as he continued to glance at her outfit while they walked toward the school.

"I realize that, but I wanted to see what would happen. Let's see if they actually care that I'm not wearing a typical prom night outfit. But if they do say something, I always have a backup plan," Tak replied with a sly smirk.

"Gosh, you always find a way to solve things when they go wrong," Dib said. After a few minutes of chatting, they finally arrived at the Skool, and it was packed despite being a school night. They entered the building, and across the hallway was the gym where prom was being held. However, there was a line to get in.

"Of course, as soon as we get here, there's a line," Dib complained.

"Hey, it could be worse if we got here super late," Tak said, reassuring the big-headed human.

After a brief silence, Dib decided to break the ice. "I've got it all mapped out from when you were teaching me self-defense skills, and I have to say, they really helped me."

Tak gave him a skeptical look. "We'll see about that. I want to test the skills I taught you in the next few days," she said, playfully punching his arm.

As they waited in line, they eventually reached the person in charge of the dress code. The person looked at Tak with disapproval. "Miss, you're not wearing the correct dress code for prom night. I'm afraid you'll need to go home and change."

Dib looked at Tak, worried she might get into a confrontation. "Hey, don't worry. You said you had a backup plan. I'll wait right here—I'm not mad," he said, trying to calm her.

Tak shot the person a death glare before smiling at Dib. "You're right, I do have a backup plan. I'll be right back. It won't take long," she said, hurrying off to a nearby bathroom.

Once in the women's bathroom, Tak entered a stall and tapped something on her wrist, changing her appearance. She now wore a black dress with high heels, her fingernails were painted purple, and she had black lipstick. After admiring her reflection in the mirror, she said, "Now they have to let me in. I'm wearing a 'normal' dress."

Back with Dib, he waited nervously. After a few minutes, he saw her return, completely transformed. His mouth dropped, and his face blushed even more than before. "Control yourself right now, Dib Membrane. Control it!" he thought to himself.

When she got close, she laid both hands on his shoulders. "So, how do I look now?" she asked. Before he could respond, she gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"You look... ten times hotter," Dib stammered, trying to keep his composure. The person with the clipboard checked her again, and finally, they were allowed into the gym for prom.

Inside, they danced for a while, had some punch, and enjoyed themselves. But in the distance, a girl named Gretchen, who had long harbored a crush on Dib, was seething. She had been friend-zoned by Dib, and seeing him with Tak enraged her.

"Why is she with him? He's supposed to be mine! That's it—I'm going to make them break up," Gretchen thought as she angrily marched toward the couple.

"HEY, TAK!!" she shouted, approaching aggressively. When she got close, she swung a fist at Tak, but Tak quickly dodged.

Dib, shocked, stepped in. "Gretchen, what are you doing?! This is so immature!"

"I'm not immature, Dib! If anyone's immature, it's you. You're the annoying freak no one can stand!" Gretchen snapped, getting closer to him. "You're a freak!"

Punch.

Gretchen's fist connected with Dib's temple, knocking off his glasses. He stumbled back in pain.

Tak, furious at seeing Dib hurt, ran toward Gretchen. "Oh, you're going down now!" Tak grabbed Gretchen by her dress and punched her in the face five times before throwing her onto the concession stand. The table collapsed, spilling punch all over Gretchen, completely ruining her dress. Crying, Gretchen yelled, "I can't believe you did that! You're such a bad person!" before storming out of the gym.

Tak watched her leave, ensuring she was gone. Then, she turned her attention back to Dib, rushing to his side. She kneeled beside him, grabbing his arms to help him up. He held his temple, wincing at the red mark left by Gretchen's punch.

"Hey, are you all right? Let me see that," Tak said, gently moving his hand. She gasped at the sight of the red mark and softly rubbed it.

"Yeah, I'm all right. I just didn't expect that... and we just got here, and already, things are going wrong," Dib replied.

Tak nodded and glanced around at the crowd staring at them. She grabbed Dib's arm and led him outside for some fresh air. Once outside, she immediately hugged him tightly and placed a hand on his head. "Don't worry, we're not leaving. I just want to make sure you're okay and that you're safe," she whispered into his ear.

Dib hugged her back. "Thank you, Tak. Thank you for defending me again. I love you so much."

Her heart skipped a beat, replaced with joy. "I love you more, Dib," she replied.

They stayed like that for a few minutes before heading back into the gym to resume the night's festivities.
