Kirby Run Part one and Two

Part Two Chapter Twenty-Three

"... (*sigh*) it was worth it." he decided "As easy as it would have been, I couldn't just do nothing. Plus it did feel nice, saving a family of hedgehogs."

Flapping his wings to fly away and try and get some more distance down this mountain, Meta Knight immediately halted upon hearing his stomach let out an extremely loud growl.

Right, he had left the food he found behind back there.

The safer option would be to just keep flying and ditch the food, regardless if there would be more food out there or not, yet his hunger kept him from doing so. Taking a breath, he turned around and flew back to where he had found the leeks, deciding he could just quickly fly down and grab them, then fly back out of there as quickly as possible.

It didn't take long for him to find where he had dropped the leeks, as they were surrounded by the sporadic snow prints of the hedgehogs and the beast. Flying down as quickly as he could, he reached down to grab the leeks as he hovered just above them.

The moment he grabbed the first leek however...

"*SCREEEEEEEEEECH!!!!*"

The creature pounced onto Meta Knight, rolling into a tumble with him before pinning him to the ground beneath its paw. The creature smiled wickedly as it stared down at Meta Knight.

The shock from being suddenly attacked quickly wore off of Meta Knight, and he quickly reacted before the beast could chomp down on him. Gripping onto his sword, he gained enough energy from it before swinging it at the creature and unleashing a Knight Beam that struck its face, causing it to howl and recoil, thus allowing him to escape from beneath the creature's paw.

Quickly composing itself, the creature stared angrily at Meta Knight as it growled violently at him. Meta Knight took a stance with his sword.

"Come at me then." he challenged the creature.

Growling, the creature let out an ear piercing roar, sending fierce sound waves that slightly threw Meta Knight off balance. Once it was done, the creature charged at Meta Knight, only for him to spread out his wings and nimbly dodge the attack, resulting in the creature crashing into some of the trees.

Before the creature could get back up, Meta Knight flew down to it and slashed at its back. The creature roared in pain in response, and quickly turned to slash its claws at Meta Knight. The claws did manage to scratch Meta Knight's foot, but luckily his armored shoes protected him, thus only leaving some slight claw marks on his armor.

Meta Knight hovered around the creature, quickly moving out of the way whenever it tried to roar at him. There wasn't a lot of space for him to fly around from here, as all the trees and their branches made it hard to move around in the air. Regardless, he did his best to dodge all the incoming attacks.

After taking a few more jabs from Meta Knight, the creature made another attempt to try and charge at him. This time when Meta Knight dodged the attack, the creature burst through the trees instead of crashing into them, running out into a large clearing within the forest.

Meta Knight flew after the creature. (Ah perfect, this clearing has more room for me to fly and strike back.) he thought (But this beast will have more room to fight as well, gotta make every move count.)

Flying out into the open, Meta Knight stared down at the creature, who stared maliciously back at him. It let out another roar, yet this one sounded more like a call. Suddenly, Meta Knight felt some kind of mysterious force attack him, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground. The creature used this as an opportunity to charge forward and slash at Meta Knight, but he quickly countered the attack by blocking its claws with his sword.
