Kirby Run Part one and Two

Part Two Chapter Twenty-One

"Ahh!!!"

"King Dedede!!!" GingerBrave yelled as Dedede landed in the hole with a thud.

Both Kirby and GingerBrave stopped before the hole and looked down it. Thankfully, Dedede wasn't hurt. The hole itself wasn't too deep, but it did look like Dedede might have trouble getting out of it.

"You okay?" Kirby asked "Do you need help?"

"Help? Now why would you do that? This is a race for crying out loud!" Dedede yelled from the bottom of the hole "As much as I wanna win, I ain't gonna have you two throw your chance of winning outta pity! Y'all keep going and I'll catch up and regain my lead in a bit!"

GingerBrave furrowed. "You sure?"

"Yeah don't worry about me! I can get out of here easy! Just keep going!"

"Okay, if you insist." GingerBrave turned to Kirby "Ready to keep going Kirby?"

"Cake!!!!" was Kirby's answer as he quickly ran off and grabbed the two giant Bear Jellies that were right at the edge of the hole, for he had spotted a slice of cake up ahead within the line of food.

GingerBrave blinked upon seeing this, then smirked as he got up and ran after him.

Once those two had run off, two Sugar Gnomes that had been observing the race and keeping track of how much food had been eaten, peaked out from behind some bushes.

"Say, Maestro Sugar Gnome remembered to warn them that Cherry Cookie set up bombs in the hole obstacles, right? Doo-di-dah?" one asked the other.

"Hey what's that ticking sound I hear- WHAT THE HECK?! AHHH!!" Dedede screamed as he quickly tossed up the bomb and it exploded right above, managing not to harm him.

"Welp, it looks like he found it. Doopity-doo." said the other Sugar Gnome.

Cherry Cookie saw all this happen from the footage the live cameras caught, and laughed gleefully.

After that, Dedede jumped up to get out of the hole, grabbing the edge and pulling himself out. Once he made it out, he panted for a second before getting up and continuing, noticing that Kirby and GingerBrave had missed a food item, that being a bag of chips.

Immediately he grabbed it, opened it up, and started eating as he ran out to try and catch up.

Up ahead, Kirby and GingerBrave managed to reach the bridge that went out to Dragon Hill, where right before it, the candy cane looking flagpole checkpoint stood there waiting for them, a lone Sugar Gnome standing beside it.

Summoning his strength, Kirby bolted past GingerBrave, and made it to the flagpole before he did.

"Hello! Congrats on making it here! Doop-de-do!" the Sugar Gnome said once Kirby ran up to him, holding up a pink flag for the pink Cookie to take.

Kirby thanked the Sugar Gnome, grabbed the flag, and tied it up to the flagpole. The flags were custom made ones that Adeleine helped the Sugar Gnomes design, and each one represented the racers, with Kirby's being pink and having his face on it.

"Ooooh." Kirby eyes sparkled as he looked at his flag, now swaying in the wind, not noticing GingerBrave just made it to the flagpole

"Don't stop now! You've gotta race back to the Kingdom!" the Sugar Gnome urged them, giving GingerBrave his flag.

With a confident nod, Kirby ran off and raced back towards the Cookie Kingdom, GingerBrave quickly putting up his flag- which had his face on it like Kirby's- and running after Kirby to try and take the lead.
