Kirby Run Part one and Two

Part Two Chapter Twenty-One

The Sugar Gnomes nodded in agreement, handing Cream Unicorn Cookie their data sheets, and the magical Cookie held both of them up to their face to read them out loud. The crowd eyeing them with anticipation.

"Let's see, all three of them did a very good job at collecting and eating the food that was laid out, GingerBrave did get a nice score himself, despite having missed a bunch of food at one point, and King Dedede did a great job at picking up the foods that the others had missed."

"With that in mind however," Cream Unicorn Cookie continued "Kirby was able to get a lot of food before Dedede, due to managing to outrun him more, and the fact that the pink puff did get a huge boost in food points thanks to getting three giant Bear Jellies, two of which that were on the trail of some cake."

"Mmm, that cake was delicious." Kirby commented.

"Because of this, and all the other food items they got, the one who has the most food points is... Kirby! With Dedede having the second most amount of food points, and GingerBrave having the third."

"Ahh," Maestro Sugar Gnome scratched his beard "so given that, and the fact he was one of the first to reach the finish line, that means the winner is..."

He pointed at Kirby. "Kirby! Kirby wins!!"

Immediately upon the announcement, Bandana Waddle Dee cheered very loudly and ran up to hug his best friend, the audience joined in on the celebration and began cheering and clapping for Kirby, Magolor especially clapping very loudly.

Kirby had a beaming smile on his face. "I won?!"

"You won Kirby!" Bandana Dee cheered "You won!"

"Congratulations Kirby!" Adeleine clapped, Elfilin clapping as loud as he could from Herb Cookie's arms, who was also congratulating him.

"Wooo! That's my best friend!!" Magolor celebrated.

"Hooray for Kirby!" Princess Cookie cheered.

"Mhe he, the crystal ball was right!" Prophet Cookie smiled.

Tons of Cookies surrounded Kirby and congratulated him for his well earned victory, some Sugar Gnomes even throwing bits of confetti to celebrate.

Dedede on the other hand, looked very dismayed.

"Nooooo! I was so close!!! Why can I never win against that pink twerp..."

"Congrats Great King!" the orangest Waddle Dee suddenly said as the Waddle Dee trio ran up to hug their ruler "You did great!"

Avocado Cookie and Custard Cookie III went up to him as well. "Yeah, that was excellent!"

Dedede was confused. "What- what are you all talking about? I didn't win!"

"Hey, but you got second!" Custard Cookie III said in encouragement "And you beat GingerBrave in a race! Not many Cookies can do that!"

"Yeah!" exclaimed GingerBrave, running up to pat Dedede on the back "You were awesome! Nice job!"

"Wait, why are you happy for me?" Dedede questioned him "Aren't you upset you got third? Aka, last place?"

"Me? Nah, I'm not upset!"

Dedede gave him a look that made him sweat.

"Mmm, okay maybe I am a little upset... but hey, it was my first Gourmet Race! I didn't expect to win that much! And hey, despite losing it was still fun!"

GingerBrave then held out his fist so Dedede could do a fist bump with him. "Also given how hard you tried, despite struggling a bit, I'd say you deserved to win against me, so congrats!"

Dedede stared for a moment, then smiled as he did a fist bump with GingerBrave, standing up tall and proud. "Yeah, I did pretty great, didn't I?"

"Yes you did Great King!" the orangest Waddle Dee agreed "You didn't give up, and you were rewarded for it!"

"True, I didn't give up! Even though I did fall behind at one point, I was able to... ketchup with them!"

Avocado Cookie made a wide smile. "Ahhh, I see what you did there!"

The group around Dedede all started to laugh, and other Cookies joined in to congratulate the king for winning against GingerBrave. Bandana Dee noticed all this, feeling slight regret that he didn't root for his majesty, but that regret was quickly overshadowed by the sight of seeing how happy Kirby was, and he joined the little audience that cheered for them. Plus he thought that pun was terrible.

"Okie dokie!" Maestro Sugar Gnome spoke up "Now that we have our results, let's move this celebration to the little podium we built! For we've got some small prizes for our three racers! Doop-de-do!"

"Ah, while you're doing that then..." Magolor cleared his throat and floated slightly above the crowd a bit to get their attention "If everyone who made bets could please follow me so we can settle the outcome, that would be great!"

The ten Cookies who made bets- plus Prune Juice Cookie- all stepped out of the crowd and began following Magolor.

"Hey wait, you're not gonna come to the podium?" Elfilin called out.

"No I'll come watch the podium! I just need to settle this first, be right back!"

Magolor floated off, with the group of Cookies following him, as Elfilin, Herb Cookie, and Adeleine watched them go. Adeleine turned and saw that everyone else was heading towards the podium the Sugar Gnomes had made, so she turned back to Herb Cookie and Elfilin and shrugged.

"Come on, let's go to the podium."
