That's when he remembered, the little coin style roll he learned from Space Doughnut! Perhaps that could help him win? It was worth a shot!

Proceeding to do some cartwheels, Kirby did a few of them until he gained enough momentum to do a full roll and rolled off like a coin in full speed, passing GingerBrave.

GingerBrave was shocked. (Huh?! When did Kirby learn to do tha-)

He didn't get to finish that thought, as Dedede sped past him, which did knock him down for a moment before he got back up and ran after him, looking very befuddled.

Right before Kirby reached the finish line, he got up on his feet again and made a run for it, Dedede quickly coming up, and...

The two collided right into the finish line at the same time, both stumbling to the ground once they reached it, causing the Sugar Gnomes that were holding it to stumble forward as well.

The crowd of Cookies all gasped.

"Kirby!" Adeleine exclaimed, sprinting up to them and Dedede "Are you okay?"

Kirby quickly got up from the ground. "All good! No worries!"

That was when GingerBrave arrived, stopping right beside his competitors and the Sugar Gnomes. "What happened? Who won?"

"Hmm, I think Kirby and King Dedede tied!" said Strawberry Cookie.

GingerBrave looked at him. "They did?!"

"Wait, I did??" Dedede got up, looking very bewildered "I tied with Kirby?!?"

"That's what it looks like!" said Adventurer Cookie.

"It looked that way to me too." Blackberry Cookie agreed.

"So wait, (*HIC!*) who wins? Is it just a tie?"

The crowd murmured amongst themselves about this, while Dedede had a very happy expression on his face due to the idea of him having at least tied with Kirby. Maestro Sugar Gnome stepped forward.

"Settle down everyone! Remember, there is more to the race than just getting to the finish line first! So even though Kirby and King Dedede tied, there's one other factor that determines who won."

The audience realized what he was referring to. "The food!!!!"

"Precisely! Doppi-doopi! Now we just need the food total from my fellow Sugar Gnomes, which... where are they..."

"We're coming!!!" a Sugar Gnome exclaimed as they and four others ran into the kingdom.

"(*Pant, pant*) We did our best to keep an eye on the racers and payed attention to how much food they all had, (*pant*) but I don't think we saw everything."

"I did!" someone answered from above.

Everyone gazed up to see who was talking, and saw that it was Cream Unicorn Cookie, floating right above them all and slowly coming back down.

Dedede's mouth went agape. "Whaaaa, there are Cookies that can float?!"

"Ah! Cream Unicorn Cookie!" Maestro Sugar Gnome greeted once they landed in front of him "Thank you again for volunteering to keep an eye on the racers and their scores for us! Doop-de-do! Were you able to keep track of who got the most food?"

"Yes, I was able to watch the whole race from above, and it was so magical.~" Cream Unicorn Cookie answered, holding a small sheet of paper close to their chest "I almost floated down to join the racers, as it looked like such a fun time! Ahem, but yes, I did keep track of all the food the three of them ate, and given the score I collected, plus the ones the Sugar Gnomes have, I think we can determine the winner!"
