Chapter 16: Tell me your secret

"Tell me," nanlaki agad ang mata ko ng marinig ko siya. Sa boses pa lang niya kilala ko na siya. Naglakad siya papalapit sakin at bigla na lang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko. Posible bang narinig niya kami? "What does it mean?" Tumayo siya sa harapan ko habang ako hindi makagalaw. Narinig niya nga kami. Ano nang gagawin ko? Anong sasabihin ko? Napahawak na ako sa dibdib ko dahil sobrang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko.

"What are you talking about?" I said pretending that I don't know anything.

"I'm not stupid. I've heard my brother." Magsasalita pa sana siya pero bigla na lang sumigit si Kiro.

"Since when did you become a nosy person, huh?" He said sounding irritated. "Leave us alone, it's not your business."

Nakita kong sinara ni Skie yong dalawa niyang kamay. I know he's pissed off and for some reason it's scares me. "Shut up Kiro. I'm not talking to you." He said while looking at my laptop. Humarap ulit siya sakin at tinignan na naman niya ako diretso sa mata ko. "Why would you love me? Tell me."

I don't know what to say. It feels like I'm running out of air, I can't breath. I'm not ready for this, I don't want him to know about us, for now or maybe never. I'm not part of his life anymore, right? He's someone else now, not the Skie I know.

"It's nothing." I answered. "Don't mind that." I turned my back at him trying escape this but he grabbed my hand.

"No, you'll not gonna get away from me with just like that. I'm not stupid! I know it has something to do with me. What is it?!"

What would I say? I don't really know. I know I could escape this, I can make up an excuse but Kiro stopped me from saying anything. "Come on, just say it Trix. Malaman man niya ang totoo, wala nang magbabago. He broke up with you before the accident. You two are already over before he got that damn amnesia, so the truth will not matter anymore. Just say it."

Pareho ulit kaming napatingin sa screen ng laptop ko, kay Kiro. I can't believe he's gonna say it but I've just realized that he's right. The truth wouldn't matter anymore. It's over for us even before. Malaman man niya ang totoo, wala naman magbabago eh. Ayaw na niya sakin. Wala na kami. Bakit nga ba tinatago ko pa sakanya ang totoo?

"Wait, what are you talking about, Kiro?!" Litong lito na si Skie. Tinignan niya si Kiro pagkatapos bumalik ang tingin niya sakin. Hanggang ngayon ang bilis pa din ng tibok ng puso ko. "What is he talking about? How come I broke up with you if we're not even together?"

Tumayo ako at hinarap ko siya. It's time for him to know. Whatever happens, after this I know I'll be free. Free from my past. The past that's always haunting me. Maybe that's the last piece I need for me to completely move-on with him.

"Can you fvcking explain what does that mean?! I can't understand what the hell is going on."

Pinikit ko ang mata ko at huminga ako ng malalim. It's about time.

"Skie, I'm your ex-girlfriend."

Natahimik kami pero maya maya bigla na lang tumawa si Skie. "You're kidding! This is not true, this can't be true!"

"Skie, I'm saying the truth."

"No, you two are playing with me, what a joke but you know what, it's not funny." Tumalikod siya pero nagsalita na naman si Kiro.

"You shouldn't have ask if you'll not going to believe her. You're really stupid, you know? Bur yeah, what can you do? You have amnesia. There's an album under Trix's bed, get it and you'll see."
