Growling, Yusuke pushed himself forward. Injured or not, he wasn't about to let this happen–
~Snap~
"Damn it!"
The stick broke and Yusuke crumpled to his knees.
"Yusuke!"
Botan stumbled forward in time to stop him from falling and they both looked back towards Miyuki.
"You forgot this."
Kurama gently lifted Miyuki's hand and placed a closed flower head into her palm.
Yusuke and Botan stared. "What the–?"
Apparently, Miyuki was confused as well because she raised a curious brow at him.
Kurama merely smiled and then closed his eyes. Miyuki opened her mouth to question him, but then she felt a warm sensation wrap up her palm. She looked down at the flower head, and much to her shock it slowly opened up into a beautiful White-Iris.
The realization punched her in the gut.
I-it was him.... She looked up at Kurama in wonder.
He... remembered...?
He smiled. "It's good to see you again, Miyuki."
Yusuke and Botan continued staring in utter astonishment, but Miyuki turned to avoid Kurama's gaze.
"Tsk, still playing the role of Prince Charming I see."
"Naturally." Kurama chuckled. "Three days then?"
Miyuki nodded. "Three days."
With one more smile, he walked away, his hand gently slipping from Miyuki's bandaged one.
Miyuki managed a weak half-wave in farewell, but then she spotted her brother and Botan nearby, goggling at Kurama's retreating form.
With a deep sigh, she made her way over. "Well, fancy seeing you two here," she deadpanned.
~Crack~
Okay, something is definitely wrong. Yusuke's grip narrowed on what remained of his stick almost to the point of breaking it.
