Originally intended to be descriptive but i had way too much fun with the story so its a weird combination now ( This was from December 2023 )
Beams of light struggled to push their way through the leaves of the many lush green trees of the forest. The harsh, bitter winds from last night had turned into a zephyr that did nothing more than caress the shimmering tall grass on the wet forest floor.
With my trusty wooden bow and a quiver of arrows in hand, I trekked through the muddy earth, soaking up the few warm rays of golden sunlight which managed to slip through the cracks of the steadfast trees. I had only one mission today--to catch a hare for my lunch.
Reaching my usual area, I started to listen for any movement. The forest was quiet, but I could sense that there was something there. Through the flimsy cover of the swaying ferns caused by a light breeze; I noticed a girl.
The sleek figure lightly trod on the slippery, mossy earth with ease towards me. I could not back away, for her pulchritude could be equal to a goddess.
She was far too mesmerizing. The girl was tall, with long, golden hair as if she had dyed it with the rays of the morning sun, the color of her azure eyes drawn from the vibrant, dancing sky itself, and a magnificent flowing dress that was seemingly made of nothing else but thick mist.
The girl approached me and whispered.
"Kind sir, could you please help fetch my sapphire necklace? I just can't seem to reach it..."
Her words were like warm milk and honey on a frigid winter day. Nodding profusely, I agreed to help her.
I followed the girl mindlessly, admiring how her feet elegantly grazed against the fragile grass on every step she took, and her luscious silky hair that seemed to almost float as she walked.
After a while, her voice shook me awake.
"It's over there!" she pointed with her long, sleek fingers.
The glowing necklace stood out on a small pile of rocks at the end of a still, turbid lake.
I dived into the bleak water without reluctance, paddling as fast as my body could manage, with the only thought in my mind that I could please the ethereal girl by bringing her precious necklace back.
The farther I paddled from the shore, the more the lake started to seem like it was endless. My body began to grow more and more tired, my legs barely having any more energy to propel myself forward. I started to regret the decision of diving into the terrible lake in the first place.
When I tried to turn back, horrible, sharp claws grasped onto my leg. I could hear nothing else but the horrendous, echoing whisper of the girl resonating in my ears, urging me to just give up. I struggled to keep my head above the watery grave as the once delicate girl, who was now a disgusting creature, started to pull me downwards into the lake mercilessly. I thrashed around and tried to scream for help, but I knew that nothing could ever save me now. I felt like an abandoned puppet, sinking slowly into the depths of the cold, awful lake. I tasted the familiar saltiness of my blood as her long, curved claws dug into my flesh, the haunting glow of the sapphire necklace being the last thing I could ever distinguish.
