"Continuing yesterday's events, another strange phenomenon has occurred around Grey-Corner." The reporter on TV said. " Four more little children from this quiet town had fallen comatose in the last four hours. Doctors are hesitant to pin calls on their conditions, but this is unlike any disease they encountered before. Town Officials advise families and anyone younger to stay inside till the problem is solved."
"Those poor children," Atsuko said. "If you two need anything, I'll be in the other room."
She closed the door.
Yusuke and Botan exchanged a grim look.
"Looks like Gouki is having his lunch," He snarled.
"In the past, he's taken souls much more slowly," Botan displayed. "With the Orb of Baast, it's easier. He can take all he wants."
"The souls he eats... How long till they'll digest?"
"Hard to say. One day at the most?"
Taking that with a grain of salt, Yusuke stood up and grabbed his jacket.
"What are you going to do?" Botan asked. "What can you do?"
"Simple." He smacked his fist against his palm. "I'll just rip open his stomach."
"You haven't even recovered yet!"
"There are a lot of things I don't understand, Botan. But isn't it better for a person to lose their life than their soul? They can't even become a ghost! And I'll give up my body before that'll happen."
"Yusuke..."
Yusuke lifted his right index fînger, where the Spirit Gun lay in wait. "I haven't used my spirit gun yet. This time I won't let him win."
Botan nodded, then pulled out a small golden ring from her pocket. "I was supposed to save this item for when your spirit energy got much stronger. It will give your spirit gun a huge punch, but afterward, you'll be completely exhausted. Only use it as a last resort."
"You got it." With a smile, he put the compass on his wrist.
"Trust me Yusuke. Use it as a last resort." She insisted. "Even with the concentration ring, your Spirit Gun may not be strong enough to pierce his skin, and then you will be left without energy."
"Whatever, I'll figure something out in the end. Let's go-!"
