Chapter 11: Sticky notes
"Why did you disobey the rules?"
Dean Leigh's eyes blazed with a fiery intensity as she locked her arms and fixed a piercing gaze on Noriashna. Her voice thundered with authority as she demanded a response from the two individuals standing before her.
Dinala ni Carlithious si Noriashna sa Dean's office dahil nalabag nito ang patakaran, kahit gustuhin niya mang ipagpasawalang-bahala ito ay malalaman at malalaman pa din ito ng Dean.
"No one told me it's prohibited," Noriashna answered Dean Leigh with a bored expression on her face.
"Didn't Melginara tell you?"
"She says I am not allowed to go outside my dorm when it's night."
"Pero pumunta ka sa labas ng school, gano'n?" Nakataas na ngayon ang kilay ni Dean Leigh ng tanungin niya iyon ng sarcastic.
"Dean Leigh, I just needed to inhale some fresh air, that's why—"
"Is inhaling fresh air more important than your life, huh, Noriashna?" Pagsesermon pa nito kay Noriashna.
Napabuntong-hininga na lamang si Noriashna dahil sa pagpuputol nito sa sasabihin niya. Hindi na lamang siya nakipagsagutan dito dahil maliban sa ayaw niyang maging bastos ay siya pa din naman ang may kasalanan.
"What's that thing that I saw earlier?" Imbes na sagutin ang tanong ng Dean ay pinili niya na lamang na ibahin ang usapan.
"It's a Wanderer." Dean Leigh seriously answered. "Due to the presence of numerous Wanderers outside the school, we must prioritize the safety of our students by strictly prohibiting their departure from the Academy," She enunciated.
"It's deadly," Noriashna commented.
"Uh-uh. And it attacked you, thank God you have that unique gift of yours." Saad nito habang napapabuntong-hininga. "And thank God, nandoon si Carlithious."
Tinapunan nila ng tingin si Carlithious na tahimik lang na nakaupo sa kabilang sofa habang taimtim na nakikinig sa kanila, Hindi man lang nag-abalang makisali sa usapan nila.
"Why are you letting him go outside the school? Isn't it dangerous?" Balik tanong ni Noriashna sa Dean.
"Baka nakakalimutan mong he's an Alpha? Mayroon na siyang sapat na kakayahan para ipagtanggol ang kahit na sino man. He's the rank 1, after all." Dean Leigh implied.
Noriashna knotted her eyebrows because of what she just heard, she tilted her head to the side and stared at Carlithious intently.
"Oh, may ranking?" Tanong niya dito, kumurap lamang sakaniya si Carlithious at hindi siya inimik.
"Of course. Do you wanna know more?" Tanong ni Dean Leigh kay Noriashna saka itinaas ang isang kilay nito habang nakasilay ang ngiti sa mga labi niya. "Then, join the Alpha team. You will surely like the information I'll be giving once you're an official member."
"Nice try. But I won't fall for it," Noriashna asserted.
Tumayo na siya sa kaniyang kinauupuan dahilan para mapatayo din si Dean Leigh at Carlithious, tinignan niya pa ito ng nakakunot ang noo bago siya magsalita.
"I'm leaving, Dean Leigh." Paalam niya dito.
"Let Carlithious accompany you to your dorm."
"Don't bother. Let him guard the school, mas importante iyon."
"We don't just guard the school, we guard the students also." Hindi na nakatiis si Carlithious at sumingit na siya sa usapan.
He has a lot of things to do kaya mas maigi kung ihahatid niya na ito ngayon.
