Truth be told, Will couldn't stop replaying the image of Nico's toned thighs flashing in the sunlight. It had awakened a hunger in him, a desire he hadn't quite known how to handle. And Nico, with his usual stoicism replaced by a playful smirk, hadn't exactly helped matters. Their stolen glances and lingering touches throughout the day had left them both on edge, their hormones doing a chaotic dance.
Now, nestled in the quiet darkness of the cabin, Will felt a sense of relief settle over him. Having Nico close, the tension dissipating with each shared breath, felt like coming home. He stole a glance at Nico, whose face was peaceful in sleep, the worry lines etched earlier by exhaustion smoothed away.
Will couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through him at the sight. Nico, the brooding son of Hades, looked...adorable. He brushed a stray strand of hair from Nico's forehead, the touch sending a spark of heat through him.
They might not have said the words, but the lingering tension, the stolen glances, the way Nico had leaned into his touch in the bathroom – it all spoke volumes. They were both in uncharted territory, a new level of intimacy blooming between them that both scared and exhilarated Will.
But one thing was certain, as he held Nico close in the dimly lit cabin, Will knew he wouldn't trade this moment for anything. The silence held a promise, a whispered secret between them. They would figure it all out, together, just like they always did. In the quiet sanctuary of Nico's arms, Will finally allowed himself to relax, surrendering to the warmth of the moment and the promise of a future brighter than the flames dancing in the hearth.
The first rays of sunlight sliced through the gaps in the window blinds, painting long stripes across the dark floor of the Hades cabin. Will stirred, the warmth radiating from Nico's body a comforting weight against him. He cracked one eye open, then the other, a smile blooming on his face as he saw Nico nestled peacefully beside him.
Nico looked different in the morning light, less intimidating, more boyish with his dark hair tousled and sleep lines etched on his face. Will couldn't help but lean in, pressing a soft kiss to Nico's forehead.
Nico mumbled something incoherent, then blinked his eyes open, momentarily confused before recognition dawned. A blush crept up his neck as he met Will's gaze.
"Good morning, Sunshine," he muttered, his voice thick with sleep.
Will grinned. "Morning, Shadow Prince. Feeling any better?"
Nico stretched, a low groan escaping his lips. "A little sore, but yeah, I think I'll survive." His eyes flickered over Will, a hint of amusement dancing in their depths. "Though maybe next time you can challenge me to a sword fight instead of a mud bath."
Will chuckled. "Noted. Although, I must admit, the mud bath look has a certain... appeal."
Nico's blush deepened, and he playfully swatted at Will's arm. The playful tension hung heavy in the air, a continuation of the unspoken electricity that had crackled between them all day yesterday, and even more so after their unexpected sleepover.
There was a silence, each of them lost in their own thoughts. Will cleared his throat, trying to break the awkwardness. "So," he started, "any idea what caused you to faint yesterday?"
Nico hesitated for a moment, then sighed. "Honestly, Will? I... I think it was nerves."
Will raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Nerves? About what?"
Nico shifted closer to him, his voice barely a whisper. "About... about us. Everything that happened yesterday... it was... intense."
Will's heart skipped a beat. He reached out, placing a hand on Nico's cheek. "Yeah," he admitted, his voice low. "It was." He couldn't help but be drawn to Nico, his vulnerability and strength an intoxicating combination.
Nico met his gaze, his dark eyes searching. "You know, the whole 'wait until marriage' thing I said yesterday?"
Will frowned slightly. "Yeah? What about it?"
Nico took a deep breath. "I... I thought that's what I wanted. You know, the whole traditional route." He snorted, a humorless sound. "Then I remembered the whole Greek god thing. And frankly, considering how most of them behaved... waiting for marriage seemed a little... quaint."
Will stared at him, a slow smile spreading across his face. "So... you're saying you don't want to wait?"
Nico's cheeks burned even brighter. "Well, not exactly. But... after yesterday... and the fact that we're already, you know, engaged..." He trailed off, avoiding Will's gaze.
Will's smile widened. He cupped Nico's face in his hands, his thumbs gently stroking the soft skin. "Nico," he said softly. "I think... I think yesterday was pretty amazing too."
He leaned in, his lips brushing against Nico's ear. "And honestly," he murmured, his voice husky, "between you and me, considering the things the gods get up to, 'whores' might be putting it mildly."
Nico burst out laughing, the sound chasing away the last remnants of tension. He leaned into Will's touch, a playful glint back in his eyes. "Alright, Sunshine," he conceded. "Maybe we can rewrite the traditional route a bit. After all, who needs Zeus to approve our relationship?"
Will chuckled, his heart overflowing with a happiness he couldn't quite explain. He pulled Nico close, their laughter echoing in the dark cabin, a sound that promised a future brighter than any Olympian could imagine. As they kissed, the sunlight streaming through the window seemed to cast a golden glow on their love, a love forged in shared secrets, stolen moments, and permanent happiness. Apollo.
That night, as Will went to scrape offerings to the gods, he spoke, scraping his food into the fire, "Thank you, Apollo. For approving of us," he set his plate down, took Nico's hands. "Of this," he kissed Nico tenderly on the lips, and time seemed to stop. And not because of the kiss.
Apollo appeared behind the two boys, hugging them both tightly, threatening Nico, "If you hurt this one..." he sliced his thumb across his throat. That was the first time anyone had ever done that for Will. Nico smiled.
"I won't hurt him, I promise."
"Though, please refrain from kissing while praying. While I enjoy that my son is in love..." Apollo shuddered. "Eulgh!"
Nico and Will grinned, and laughed, holding hands.
"Also..." Apollo went on, flinching, looking to Will. "Don't taunt your boyfriend like that at breakfast!
Will blushed. "I know, I shouldn't have--"
"--I'm not done!" Apollo declared, cutting Will off. "You have to do it in a big Olympian gathering, like Hyacinthus did to me."
Nico's eyes widened, and Will coughed.
"I'll think we'll be going now, bye dad!" Will said, running away with Nico in tow.
