Loss of love (hiccup x reader)

Awkward

The next day Y/n awoke in her bed by herself
"Hiccup?" She questioned groggily as she rubbed her eyes.
She didn't revive a reply so she got up and got drsssed in her armour before going down stairs.
Hiccup was sitting in the front room on the couch shirtless with the dragons
" mind putting some clothes on" Y/n laughed as she plodded down the stairs
"Sorry, didn't expect you to be up this soon, you were always a late riser" Hiccup said as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly
"Yep well when I was on my own Stike always had to make sure I was up with the sun" she laughed back.
At the mention of his name her dragon came trotting over
"Hey buddy" she cooed as she scratched behind his ears, pulling her hand away it was a bit dusty
" okay ew dragon bath day for sure" she said as her face scrunched up
"Sounds good to me I'll erm go get dressed" hiccup replied and passed her to go up the stairs.

They ended up at the cove to wash the dragons.
"You know what, it's a nice day I'm just gonna get in" Y/n said and she started taking off her armour but leaving her under shirt and leggings on
"Fair enough but I'm not" Hiccup laughed
"Oh come on don't be boring, come in!" Y/n scouted a she played about with the dragons
"Nope" Hiccup said singsongingly
Y/n just had to give Toothless a look and he jumped out the pond and grabbed Hiccups fake leg, dragging him into the water
"Really bud?!" He laughed once he came back up.
Y/n laughed along with him
"Oh you'll pay for that!" Hiccup ahouted as he warm towards her.
Soon enough they were having a full blown water fight between them and the dragons.
They laughed and played about for hours before finally getting out to dry off
"I have missed this so much" Y/n sighed as she turned round to face hiccup whilst they lay in the sun
"Me too" he smiled and faced her.
She leaned in and gave him a light kiss.
Sparks flew through each of their bodies.
"Hiccup, Y/n?" A voice spoke.
It was Astrid
"Oh no.."

Astrid ran though the forest as tears flowed down her face, she went out there to apologise to both of them and they were all over each other already!
"Astrid wait!" Y/n yelled but the blonde just kept running
"Please Astrid!" Hiccup shouted to her. Astrid couldn't not do what he said, after all she did still slightly love him.
She stopped running and turned to face them, all panting heavily.
"I can out there to apologise for suspecting Y/n was the reson we broke up but I was right all along!" Astrid screamed with rage
"Astrid, you know that's not why we broke up. Me and Y/n were friends our whole life's before she left and yeah maybe I have had feelings for her but she's not the main reason we broke up" Hiccup sighed, trying to keep his cool
"What is then!" Astrid shouted again
"You fucking cheated on me with Snotlout!" Hiccup yelled
"Hiccup calm down, be the bigger person" Y/n whispered beside him and squeezed his damp hand
Astrid looked more shocked than ever
"Who the fuck told you that!" She yelled through gritted teeth
"Snotlout! He wouldn't stop bragging about it" Hiccup yelled back
"Hiccup I'm in Astrid's side for once. Do you revise how stupid you sound? Believing Snotlout?" Y/n sighed as she scratched behind her dragon's ears
"Thanks Y/n" Astrid smiled as she finally calmed down
"Oh Astrid I'm so sorry I should have asked you about it. But I love Y/n Astrid, even if you didn't cheat please accept that. I know I am in the wrong here" Hiccup sighed and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly
"It's okay I understand. Can we still all be friends?" The blonde questioned with a small smile.
"Of course"
"Yeah!"
They all hugged and said some final apologies before walking back to the great hall for some dinner.

After a good and filling meal, Y/n, Hiccup and their dragons headed back to Gobber's house for the night again since Hiccup had his night clothes and stuff there anyway.
"What ya reading?" Y/n questioned as Hiccup sat up in bed reading a large book
"Just your version of the book of dragons" he said as he continued to read
"Oh gods, some of those drawings are horrible!" Y/n laughed
"Hey considering you were what? 12? They are good" he laughed along with her before placing a kiss to her forehead and hugging her closer to him as they continued to read together.

A/n this is just a short filler chapter because I wanted to add an important A/b at the end.
So the slow burn idea has kind of went out the window slightly, sorry about that and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for this story?
I'm away on holiday in 6 days just I'll have WiFi so will probs still upload but please if anyone has ideas for this comment them 🙂
