"Kriss is alive," I said again. I felt the beginnings of a smile creeping up my face. Saying it allowed made the reality so much sweeter.

Ky turned her attention to me, eyes homing in on me then flicking to the woman on the screen I was gaping at. Her eyes widened as the realization spread across her face.

A male moved passed Kriss. He's a head taller than her, with tanned skin and a strong build.

"You're trying to fight back?" he asks the screen. "You're trying to stop the giants?"

'Giants'. It seems like Kriss isn't the only one who refers to my kind as such. A few chuckles rumble through the observers around me, leaving a sick feeling in my gut.

"Yes, we are going to stop the giants," Ky told the baffled humans. "And we invite every single on of you to join us."

"And if we refuse?" A woman with long black hair and equally dark eyes asked, a scowl etched on her face.

"You have every right to refuse," Ky admits. "I strongly encourage you to consider this offer. The events that will soon take place will be violent, chaos has already ensued among the Tsosyrans - or 'giants' as you call them. We cannot guarantee that this offer will be available to you at a later time. We need to stop the Tsosyran empire while we still have the element of surprise. Our enemy has failed to realize our presence on this planet thus far."

"It was you, wasn't it?" Kriss stepped closer to whatever was establishing this two-way communication. "You destroyed the labs. You killed those giants. How did you pull off something like that?"

"There is much about us that you do not understand, things we cannot explain until we meet in person. Upon joining us, we will happily grant you the answers to anything you desire to know."

"So you're suggesting," the bald headed man who spoke originally raised an eyebrow in obvious suspicion. "That we go with you to some undisclosed location with no evidence that you're on our side? We could be trading one enemy for another." He huffed, shaking his head in disbelief. "We will have to pass on your offer."

I ground my teeth. No one protested this man's assertion. He spoke for them. And he might be about to make the worst decision of their lives.

I may not trust these rebels, but if the Tsosyrans found their refuge they would certainly be slaughtered. There is no winning for these humans. They either die at the hands of my species or risk being murdered by a different alien race.

"It would be unfair for us to expect to earn your trust so easily." Ky conceded. "What is your name, human?"

"Samuel," he cocked his head. "And I am one of the founders of this camp. We've been getting along just fine on our own. Our answer is no. It's time for you to leave."

More guns cocked in response to Samuel's statement.

"We'll respect your wishes, Samuel." Ky said. I could hear the smile in her voice. "But first, you'll find that me and my people can be very convincing."
