FRI(END)S, V

Minho invited him to dinner that night, they went out to a fancy korean barbeque place. One of Jisung's favorite in town. Under the soft glow of the streetlights, Minho felt the time was right to ask the question. As Jisung got closer to kiss him Minho's face drifted away making his lips end up on his check instead. He took the blondie's hands in his locking their eyes.

«What's wrong?» the younger asked

«Nothing, it's that I've been thinking about like what are we» Jisung looked at him with a confused expression.

«What do you mean?» Minho sighed

«Like you don't feel anything for me, do you?» Jisung still didn't get to his point.

«No why? We're friends» he had replied.

Ouch, that was a straight punch in the stomach.

We're just friends, Minho repeated those words in his brain and it felt so wrong.

«Jisung friends don't do the things we do. We are something, but definitely not friends, this is not how you treat your friends»

«Fuck buddies?»

«So that's it? You don't feel anything, nothing at all?»

«What I'm supposed to feel?»

«God Jisung are you so blind? Can't you see?»

«What?»

«That I love you, that I've fallen in love with you!» he nearly screamed leaving Jisung speachless for a second.

Jisung sharply replied «No you're not, we just fuck that's it»

«Do you think we've been fucking this last month? No Jisung you've been making love to me, that's not fucking»

«I don't get your point»

«So you're saying that after all we do we're just fuck buddies»

«Yeah, there's nothing else to say»

«Jisung you can't be serious»

«You can't just brush this off»Minho insisted, his voice tinged with frustration. «This is important to me»

But Jisung remained stubborn, his arms crossed defensively over his chest. «I don't know what you want from me, Minho. We agreed to keep things casual, didn't we?»

Minho shook his head, feeling a surge of frustration rising within him. «No, we didn't agree to anything. At least, I didn't. Maybe I was foolish to think that there was something more between us»

«Relashionships are messy, and people's feelings get hurt, i don't want that!»

«So what your're going to do this for the rest of your life?» he said pointing to themselves.

Jisung's expression hardened, his defenses going up even further. «I don't have time for this, Minho. I have other things to worry about, we can just stop seeing each other if that's what you want»

Minho's heart ached at Jisung's coldness, feeling the sting of rejection like a knife to the chest. «So that's it? You're just going to shut me out?»

«Look me in the eye and tell me you don't feel anything, nothing at all, like your heart doesn't sink every time we kiss, the way your heart races, the way you're drawn to me? You know i've noticed that" Jisung avoided Minho's gaze, his jaw clenched in frustration. Minho grabbed his head resting his forehead on Jisung's.

«I like you, but i don't feel anything» Minho's heart sank at Jisung's admission.

«Jisung, please» Minho pleaded, gently stoking his hair. «Just... just listen to me, okay? I need you to understand how much you mean to me»

«It was a mistake» Jisung's words cut through Minho like a knife, each word driving deeper into his wounded heart. «We were never meant to be more than this»

Tears welled up in Minho's eyes, his chest constricting, a knot starting to form in his throat. «How can you say that?» he choked out, his voice barely above a whisper. «How can you just throw everything away like it never meant anything to you?» his voice cracked.

Jisung's gaze softened slightly, but there was still a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes. «I- i I'm sorry, i can't give you that»

«Goodnight Jisung» Minho muttered, his voice barely above a whisper as he turned away from Jisung, quicklòy crossing the street.

Jisung watched silently as Minho walked away from him, a knot of unease forming in the pit of his stomach. He wanted to call out to Minho, to stop him from leaving, but the words caught in his throat, suffocated in his mouth. So he stood there alone, in front of the resturant ingoring a tear slipping away.
