Izuku arrived home pretty late; it was almost eleven when he pulled into his apartment's driveway. He was tired, so he just changed into a plain white t-shirt and black basketball shorts before hopping into bed, falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. He forgot to set his alarm, which was bound to cause problems in the morning. After all, Katsuki was coming to pick him up.
In the morning, Izuku was awoken by someone banging on his front door. Izuku groaned and rolled over, trying to ignore it.
" Did I not tell you to be ready when I arrived? " The person yelled from outside, the banging getting louder and more aggressive.
" Who the fuck is knocking at my door? " Izuku grumbled, sitting up. He thought for a moment as he got up, rubbing his head.
" Shit! " He exclaimed at once, remembering that Katsuki was taking him to school today.
" One minute, I'll be out in a second! " He called, scrambling to find an outfit. He grunted as he pulled a black hoodie over the shirt he wore the previous night and put on some black jeans and went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth as fast as he could going out of the restroom getting his leather jacket from the kitchen. As he grabbed his backpack off the counter, opening the door, panting slightly. Katsuki crossed his arms and stepped back, looking Izuku up and down.
" Did you not brush your hair? " Katsuki questioned, narrowing his eyes slightly. Izuku cursed under his breath, patting his hair down with his hand.
" No, " He mumbled, avoiding eye contact. Katsuki sighed, shaking his head.
" Did you have breakfast? " Izuku paused, sucking his teeth before answering in a low voice. "I didn't,"
" That's just great, " Katsuki began, his tone full of sarcasm. " Get in the car. " Izuku hesitated but rolled his eyes and walked to the car, getting in the passenger seat. Katsuki got in after him but didn't start driving right away. He instead pulled his phone out and typed something into the search engine.
" What do you normally eat for breakfast? " Katsuki asked, not even glancing in Izuku's direction. Izuku rolled his eyes before responding.
" Whatever I have, why? "
" You're not skipping breakfast. We're already late, so what's the difference? "
" You have classes to teach. "
" And you have classes to go to. "
" You're the driver. Who am I to argue where we go? " Izuku muttered, turning and looking out the window, waiting for Katsuki to start driving.
Katsuki pulled up to a small, weird-looking diner and parked the car, stepping out and waiting for Izuku to do the same. Izuku got out, putting his hands in his pockets and glancing at Katsuki. Katsuki grinned before looking back at the diner and walking to the entrance. Izuku followed him, rolling his eyes as he did.
" This is the second time we've been to some shitty restaurant. It's like a fucking date. " Izuku thought as he walked through the doors, scoffing at the man at the front desk.
" I'm not even hungry. This is a waste of time, " Izuku muttered, glancing at Katsuki.
" Eager to get to school? " Katsuki responded, not even looking at Izuku. Izuku rolled his eyes.
" I'd just rather not be here with you. "
" Get used to it, darling. " Katsuki teased
before turning his attention to the man at the front desk. Izuku looked down at his feet, slightly flustered . " What the fuck? Why am I flustered? " Izuku thought, shaking it off as soon as it entered his mind. Izuku looked back up, waiting for Katsuki to finish talking with the man.
They got seated in a booth at the corner of the diner. The seats had rips all over them, and it was uncomfortable to sit on.
" Don't expect me to pay for any of this. It wasn't my choice to come here, " Izuku stated, glaring at Katsuki. Katsuki chuckled slightly before replying.
" Oh. You know that I wouldn't let you spend your money. " Katsuki winked before picking up the menu and looking it over. Izuku rolled his eyes. Why was Katsuki being so... flirtatious?
The waiter came over and asked them what they would like to drink, to which Katsuki asked for water, and Izuku asked... more like demanding a Dr. Pepper. When they were asked what they would like to eat, Katsuki didn't order anything, and Izuku just ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese.
" Why didn't you order anything? " Izuku asked, leaning back against the booth and staring across the table at Katsuki. Katsuki rolled his eyes before responding,
" I already ate. I woke up at a reasonable time. " Izuku couldn't help but crack a smile. Something about the way Katsuki spoke was very amusing. Katsuki grinned in return before glancing down at his watch. It was a nice watch, a Luminor Marina. From what Izuku knew, they could sell for around $8,800. Katsuki looked up and noticed that Izuku was staring at the watch, then said, " You like the watch? I'll buy you one if you want. "
Izuku furrowed his brows and crossed his arms over his chest.
" Watches are expensive, " Izuku responded, shaking his head.
" I'll buy you one soon. That's a promise, " Katsuki stated. There was no changing his mind about this. Izuku rolled his eyes but didn't argue. Instead, he turned his attention back to the watch.
" I'd prefer black or gray, " Izuku mumbled, glancing up to meet Katsuki's gaze. Katsuki smiled and nodded. " Then you're getting black or gray. "
After they finished the food and arrived at the car, Izuku sighed, slamming his head back against the seat. Katsuki looked over at Izuku, slightly confused.
" You okay there, Izuku? " He asked, laughing slightly. Izuku nodded, looking at Katsuki.
" Do we have to go to school? " Izuku whined with a look of boredom in his eyes. " You said it yourself. I have classes to teach. "
Izuku groaned in response, looking at the time on his phone. It was now 9:30 in the morning. First period was over. Izuku's first period is math. It is, in his opinion, the most boring, so at least that's something.
" Come on, lighten up. You'll see me once it's fourth period, after all. That's something to look forward to, don't you agree? " Katsuki grinned, starting the car. Izuku rolled his eyes before responding.
" I strongly disagree, " Izuku grumbled, turning to look out the window as Katsuki started to drive. Izuku thought for a moment before a smile formed on his lips. Maybe he was excited to see Katsuki. That was new.
