Izuku was left alone in the office, he brought his hand up and clutched his chest where Tomura had previously hit him. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and the pain was starting to settle in. He stood up and left the office, the school bell ringing indicating that the day was over.
Izuku waited outside, watching everyone leave, hoping to see Katsuki again, but he didn't. Izuku huffed and pulled his phone out. He didn't feel like texting so he hit the call button and brought the phone up to his ear.
"I'm busy, what?" Katsuki's tone was cold, and you could hear the sound of cars passing in the background.
"Oh, you can fucking multitask." Izuku responded, the attitude prominent in his voice.
"Language." Katsuki scolded before muttering something.
"What?" Izuku hadn't heard what Katsuki had said and he was curious. Katsuki most likely would brush it off, but it was worth a shot. Izuku was expecting to at-least get a response but Katsuki just hung up. How rude. "Whatever. I didn't even want to talk to his stupid ass." Izuku thought to himself, pouting slightly. He huffed before walking over to his car and getting in. He swung his bag into the passenger seat and placed his phone in the cup holder.
He started driving, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, anxiously. Anxiously? No. Izuku doesn't get anxious. Maybe he was just bored? Anyway. Izuku didn't feel like going home, so instead he decided to go to the basketball court.
After about ten minutes, he arrived, parked his car, and got out. It was completely empty, so that was even better. It didn't really matter either way, because he would've made everyone else leave. He didn't bring any money so he couldn't buy a water, but that wasn't going to stop him from practicing. He walked to the court and grabbed a basketball that was in the grass. There was always about two or three, since people can't be bothered to put them back in the bin. Izuku was one of those people. Although it was quite boring playing by himself. he'd rather be alone than play with some random dude. He mostly did shooting drills, and he made roughly 80% of his shots. He was sweating profusely and was thirsty as fuck, he groaned as he looked for a nearby water fountain, at least. When he didn't find one he huffed and sat down on the court, his back against the basketball hoop's pole. He leaned his head back, panting as he just rolled the ball away from him. He pulled his phone out and saw that he had a new text message.
Katsuki : I finished taking care of what I had to do. What did you need?
Izuku grinned slightly before replying
Izuku : Bring me a water
Izuku waited for Katsuki to respond, he already knew what Katsuki was going to say.
Katsuki : Where are you?
Izuku's eyes widened out of shock, he didn't expect Katsuki to actually comply. Of course he wasn't going to take this for granted, he responded after a few seconds of being surprised.
Izuku : Basketball court near the school.
Izuku didn't get a response, but he knew that Katsuki was in fact coming.
After a while of waiting, an SUV pulled up and out stepped Katsuki. He was in a different outfit from earlier, he was wearing a black muscle shirt and gray sweatpants. Izuku's ears turned red, which usually happened when he was... flustered.
Huh.
Katsuki walked over to Izuku and crouched down beside him, placing the water bottle down.
"You play basketball?" Katsuki questioned, sizing Izuku up. Izuku grabbed the water and finished the whole thing in a few seconds. He wiped his mouth and crumbled the bottle before placing it back on the pavement.
"I mean, not for a team or anything like that."
Katsuki nodded in acknowledgment and glanced at the crushed bottle.
"Throw it out."
Izuku rolled his eyes as a response but stood up and grabbed the bottle, strolling over to the trash can. He chucked the bottle in and went back over to Katsuki, who was now standing. Izuku ran his hand through his messy, green hair and looked up at Katsuki. Izuku stood at about 6'1", so Katsuki had to be at least 6'5".
"Play me, let's see what you got." Katsuki said in a mocking tone, not believing that Izuku was any good at basketball.
"Fine. Don't be upset when I beat you." Izuku responded, a small smile forming on his face. Izuku grabbed the basketball and chucked it at Katsuki, which he caught a few inches in front of his face. Izuku received a slight glare, which was returned with a grin.
"Oops?" He chuckled slightly.
Katsuki rolled his eyes and dribbled the ball to the half court line.
"You're not gonna-" Izuku started to say before Katsuki shot the ball and swished it into the hoop. Izuku didn't say anything, jaw dropped.
"What's wrong, hm?" Katsuki teased, crossing his arms.
Izuku grabbed the ball and jogged over to the half court line as well. He had never actually tried to shoot from here but if Katsuki could do it, he definitely could too. Katsuki scoffed, he had no faith in Izuku.
Izuku shot the ball and, well, drastically missed. Katsuki immediately burst out laughing, as Izuku turned to face him.
"Shut up! You cheated!" Izuku snapped, making up excuses on why he missed. Katsuki continued laughing before Izuku raised his hand and went to slap him. Katsuki caught Izuku's hand midair and tightened his grip around Izuku's wrist. He had stopped laughing and there was now a cold expression on his face.
"You ever try to hit me again, things won't turn out well for you." Katsuki said blunty before shoving Izuku's arm back, causing Izuku to stumble slightly.
"Am I understood?" Katsuki asked, waiting for a response. Izuku just nodded as he rubbed his wrist, Katsuki sure had a tight grip.
"Use your words." Katsuki commanded, not accepting a nod as an answer. Izuku sucked his teeth before replying, "Yes." Katsuki looked Izuku up and down before sighing.
"I let you off easy, again. Do not expect any warnings in the future." Katsuki barked, cracking his knuckles as he did so. Izuku rolled his eyes, he was upset, but not visibly.
