"What's the point of being alive if Keiko and my sister have to be killed for it?!"

Sakyaka's eyes went wide upon hearing Yusuke's words, but he barely noticed.

He never wanted this to happen. As much as he wanted to come back to life now he never wanted his loved ones to pay the price for it. Their lives were more important to him than his own life, regardless of what he had expressed previously.

~CRASH~

Another window smashed from the blazing inferno, which had now swelled to reach the ceiling, even above, and block the door completely.

But just then, someone else arrived on the scene.

"Urameshi's house?" Kuwabara spluttered when he saw the raging fire.

"I told those girls..." the man beside him moaned. " I told them it was dangerous!"

Kuwabara whipped his head around quickly. "What girls?"

"Two girls ran into the house, saying that there was someone inside." The local said. "We tried to stop them, but they ran in."

"What?!?" Kuwabara's eyes filled with terror before he looked back.

"MIYUKI! KEIKO!"

He charged forward himself, but one look at the hot flames made him stumble on his feet.

It was hopeless.

There was no way in, or out.

*~~*~~*

With great difficulties, the girls finally got through most of the flame walls safely.

When Miyuki saw a potential opening, she made a jump over it.

"MIYUKI!" Keiko screamed. "ARE YOU OKAY?!"

"YES!" Miyuki coughed. "I'M RIGHT HERE KEIKO!"

She stood there a minute with her arms open wide. Soon, Keiko made her leap and landed right into Miyuki's embrace.

But the moment she did, Keiko had almost collapsed on her knees out of exhaustion.

"Keiko!" Miyuki helped her be steady, but she herself could barely hold it together.
