"i..i slept with george" meredith says

"you..what?" addison almost forgot how to breathe

"i'm sorry" meredith says "i didn't enjoy it..it was a night where you were on call and he kept saying all these nice things about me and i didn't know i didn't want it until it happened" meredith explains

"maybe we should take a break" addison says looking down

"but addie" meredith says

"i'm sorry..maybe we should've thought about it before getting married, i love you meredith but you hurt me" addison says getting up "i'll get a hotel tonight" she walks upstairs to pack up her things

meredith follows her "addie i know you're hurt and i know what i did was wrong i slept with two guys i cheated on you and i'm sorry"

"sorry won't show me how much you really care for me..you let me down meredith, i..i love you but if i really love you i'll let you go, you can be free you won't have to feel guilty about sleeping with other people" addison tries to smile wiping the tears out of meredith's cheeks

she goes back to packing

"addison i love you, i love you im just broken and you put me back together" meredith says "i know i did so many things that were wrong im sorry addie" she repeats

"i'll call my lawyer tomorrow.." addison says walking out with her bag

"addie let's talk about this" meredith says

addison turns around on the stair case looking up at meredith who also stops at the top of the steps

"we've talked about this many times we went to marriage counseling, mer am i just not enough for you? am i just this toy that'll tell you that they love you and compliment you?" addison asks

"addie you know that's not it, i love you, you are enough for me but sometimes it's not enough" meredith says

addison walks back down

meredith follows her out

"please talk to me i don't want a divorce" meredith says

"then what do you want? i've tried everything to keep this marriage strong but you're not trying mer you aren't i want you to try i wanted you too but now it's too late, did you think i was a joke back in that on call room? i feel so stupid" addison asks

"no! i want to have kids with you i do addison please don't do this" meredith says

"i have to, you can do whatever you want now it'll hurt me but i'm not yours anymore.." addison says and calls for a cab

the next few days were kind of dark and twisty for meredith and addison they went to court and finalized their divorce

but meredith couldn't let go, george wouldn't speak to her, addison wouldn't speak to her, izzie, cristina and alex wouldn't understand

one night meredith found herself drunk infront of addisons hotel room knocking on her door

addison opens it "meredith..you can't be here" she says

"yes i can! i can speak to my ex-wife!" meredith slurs her words

"you're drunk.." addison sighs
