We waited 2 days to see if we got accepted to UA. The letters slid through the gap in the door.
“Kate we got mail.” I said picking up the letters that were mixed in with the rest of the mail.
“Really!” Kate said
“It looks like regular mail so don’t get your hopes up.” I said
“Well open it.” Kate said
“There’s a letter addressed to you.” I said, handing her a letter.
“OK.” Kate said grabbing the letter
“We’ll open them at the same time.” I said getting ready to open mine
“Ok. I’m trying not to get my hopes up.” Kate said
“On 3. 1…2…3…” I opened my letter and and there it was an approval to go to UA
“What does yours say?” I asked
“I got approved. What about you?” Kate asked
I put on a saddened look.
“I got rejected.” I said
“Oh, I’m sorry Raven.” Kate said
“What class did you get into?” I asked
“Class 1A.” Kate said
“Same here.” I said chuckling
“Raven! You're so mean.” Kate said punching me in the shoulder
“Ok but the way you were sorry.” I said laughing
“That's not something you should joke about, but I have to admit that was pretty good.” Kate said laughing
“But now you’re stuck with me all day anyway.” I said in a joking tone
“We live in the same apartment.” Kate said
“I know.” I said chuckling
“Should we ask what everyone else got?” Kate asked
“Sure.” I said
“Should we meet them somewhere?” Kate asked
“Ya sure.” I said grabbing a hat and tossing it to Kate
Kate texted:
Hey, everyone meet at the park, and bring your letters!
“Let’s go.” I said
“Can I try out one of your beanies?” Kate asked
“Sure.” I said grabbing one of my beanies and tossing it to her
“Thanks.” Kate said catching it
“It might allow more ventilation than the one you were wearing.” I said
“And might be a little more comfortable.” Kate said putting on the beanie
“Ya.” I said putting mine on
We headed out of the apartment and started walking toward the park. Once we got there no one else was there yet. We waited a few minutes before we saw Marry.
“Morning Marry.” I said
“Morning.” Marry said
“How have you been?” Kate aske
“Fine.” Marry said
“So did you get accepted?” I asked
“Ya.” Marry said
“Sweet what class?” I said
“Class 1A.” Marry said
“She’s with us.” Kate said
