Luxurious Humanity
Dark rooms, broken windows.
Walls caved in.
Nowhere to go.
She's sinking going under.
It eats away at her brain.
A weird burning, prickling her cells, coursing through her blood, poisoning her veins.
It pulls at all of her.
She's miserable here, working a job she hates.
But she has no choice, she lives a life of poverty, of a refugee.
This whole time she thought she was one of the lucky ones.
Maybe she is.
To be a peasant you work harder than anyone's ever worked before.
A paycheck that can't cover groceries,
A ceiling with cracks, a sink with a leak, cabinet doors smashed.
What will she be?
Another problem comes hurtling through the door, she picks herself up, leaves her hate in the floor.
Her head is pounding.
Her feet are begging her to stop.
It was the worst of times
Her feet dragged on the floor, aches that flash at the bottom of her feet, trying to take away her ability to walk, her ability to stand.
She remembers when she used to be free.
Now there's slicing pain nipping at her skull, she wonders why me?
You can't choose where you come from.
You can't drown in the storms.
You've got to get up!
No not for them.
For you.
For you.
Because it's you that will have to stitch the string together when you fall apart.

Happy Valentine's Day lol. <3
