4 years have come and gone 

And here we are with a path 

With signs pointing in every which way 

And it's you who have gotten me here 

Another year and I'll come back 

But I won't be the same or have the same look 

Because I'll already have added another chapter 

In my already filled story book 

With you behind my back I have made it 

And I hope you know that I'm proud of us 

And I know that yesterday is gone 

And it's time for us to move on 

But I really got to know who you are

I really don't know what I'm headed towards

The ornament with colors of us 

Every word that was put in a poem 

Will have the memory of all of you 

Another step and it's all thanks to you 

Because I was a no hope kid 

Then I stepped in the doors and I was someone 

Because I found the people who love me 

With the family that I have made along the way 

And I hope you know that I couldn't have done it 

Without you 

And I know that yesterday is gone 

And it's time for us to move on 

But I really got to feel loved like I wasn't before

I know that we had days that were beautiful and dark

With words as hurtful as thorns and smiles as warm as the sun

Because no matter what we had an understanding

It's been a perfect 4 years and it kills me to walk away from Heaven

But only when you go through the experience of the world

Can you look back and cherish who they have made you 

I know that yesterday was yesterday and it's today 

But I can't believe that you have gotten me here 

And I'm at fault for opening my vault door for you 

And I'm so happy that I allowed everyone in my mind 

You gave me a feeling of comfort and welcome 

And it's hard now but someday we'll be together again 

I just wanted to let you know that "once a griffin always a griffin"  

The world is ready to open up to me it's just hard to say goodbye 

And I know that yesterday is gone 

And it's time for us to move on
