EPISODE NINE

— Y/N POV —

"Johnny come with me" I say standing up , he hops down and we run over by the fountain out of sight "What're we doing?" he asks "Leaving Cherry and Pony alone" I say "Do they like each other or something?" he asks looking back at them "What'd you think" I ask him "Well yeah" he says "You're really clueless" I say , "Let's sit here" I say as we stop behind a tree and sit. I start to realize how cold it really is "Man , it is cold" I say quietly "Here let me help" he says placing his arm around me pulling me closer to him. We make eye contact and smile at each other "So you and Pony's essay , how's it going?" he asks me "We got a few paragraphs on it" I say "More than one paragraph about farmers? I don't know how you can do that" he says "Well it's not exactly about farmers" I say "Then what's it about?" he asks curiously. I hesitate for a moment "It's about..you" I say looking away from him "Me?" he asks I nod "What exactly about me?" "Well I a pitched the idea that we could use the time you were uhm...aggressively bothered to write about. And the socs that did it were your inner thoughts slowly taking over you and you kill yourself in the end" I say "Woah, well maybe you can add something that saves me from those thoughts because I dont think I a want to die" he says "Sometimes like what?" I ask "This" he says pulling me into a kiss. Shock fills my body until eventually I just give in I kiss him back and we stay like this for a few seconds. He stops and we make eye contact for a few seconds "What do you think?" he asks "Well I mean I guess I could change my essay a little" I say and he smiles in response.

We talk for a little until we decide to find Cherry and Ponyboy , after we get up from behind the tree we see Pony teaching Cherry how to smoke a cigarette "Like this?" she asks taking a puff in and blowing the smoke out then coughing a little "Sorry" she says coughing on him "It's fine you coughed less than I did" he says "How much did you cough?" she asks "Like this" he says before coughing like a cat choking up a hairball. "Wow you sure are a charmer" I say as we make it over to them "What're you doing anyways?" I ask laughing "Showing Cherry how I coughed smoking for the first time" "Where were y'all?" Ponyboy asks "Saw a dog and wanted to pet it" I saw "And we had our first kiss" Johnny adds "That too" I say looking at them both the both smile "But Pony I have a new idea for our essay" I say "What is it?" he asks.

"What is it?" he asked " I looked up to see everyone's reaction and they're all staring at me in silence until Darry says "That's a damn good story" "Mhm , use that" Soda adds taking a sip of coke "Well hell didn't think you'd say all that about me" Dally says "You think we'll get a good grade?" Pony asks. Everyone nods then I say "Okay , well I need to translate this into Spanish" I say with a smile and a sigh.
