Chapter 24

Even though I didn't get a chance to make it up to Keogh again after what happened, I enjoyed the camp until our last day. It was kind of exhausting, but it's fine.

Katatapos lang naming magtagtag ng kaniya-kaniyang tent after the awarding. They also informed us na pwede ng umuwi once makapaglinis and our class finish first.

"Stay here, babalikan ko ang mga gamit niyo." ani Ellias habang at naunang umalis dala ang gamit niya.

Nanatili kami ni Eury sa room at naghintay roon.

"Did something happened?" Eury asked, noticing my silence.

"Hmm?"

"May nangyari ba? You're unsually quiet."

Sinuklay ko ang aking buhok at sumandal sa aking bangko.

"Was it Keogh?" she probed. Sumimangot ako at narinig ang pagtawa niya. "of course, it was him."

Ellias helped us from all our things hanggang sa may bus stop.

I told them to go without me dahil may sasakyan naman kami.

But then, it's probably not my day today. Because Dad informed me na hindi ako masusundo ngayon right after I texted them. Pagkaalis na pagkaalis lang noong dalawa. And Dad asked me if I could take a bus for now, and I had no choice, so I said I'm fine with it, so I said yes.

I clicked my tongue when I felt my foot cramping while waiting for the bus. Napanguso ako at sumipa sa lupa, saka naupo at sinapo ang binti.

"Magdalawang tricycle na tayo, hindi tayo kakasya sa isa."

Bumali ang aking leeg nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses na iyon at nakita sina Keogh na kalalabas palang ng school.

He's with his friends, Axel, Marijoy and Zach. Hindi ko alam kung paanong natanaw ako ni Axel sa aking pwesto pero nakita ko siyang kumaway sa akin.

Awkward akong kumaway pabalik nang bumaling sila sa akin.

"Mag-isa ka lang?!" Muntik na akong matawa nang sumigaw ito sa akin.

Tumayo ako at bahagyang lumabas ng bus stop. "Yes!" sigaw ko rin, natatawa.

Keogh, even from the distance, furrowed his eyebrows at me, saka siya bumaling kay Marijoy.

Bumuntong hininga ako. I waved at Axel when a tricycle stopped in front of them. Mabuti pa sila, makakauwi na!

Nakita ko pa ang pag-iilangan ni Axel bago siya sumakay sa loob ng tricycle. I waved again, Zach waved at me and I smiled.

Magkasama sa isang tricycle si Axel at Zach, habang sina Marijoy at Keogh.

I pursed my lips and saw Keogh helping her with her things. Napatingin ako sa mga gamit ko at inisip kung paano ko 'to mag-isang bubuhatin at ibaba mamaya.

I brought my eyes back to them and saw them leaving. Mariin akong napapikit at nahugot ang paghinga.

Nasapo ko ang aking noo nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses ng girlfriend ni Rouhi.

Tumikhim ako. "Hello, yes, this is Sky, uh— Hera, right? Rouhi's girlfriend?"

"Yes, I'm sorry... he's asleep right now. Pero let me wake him—"
