I don't know how to do this
As if these words could capture you
As if any words could
"smile"Doesn't quite cover
The way the corners of your mouth move
Shifting your cheeks
Turning you carefree
"Laugh"
Can't explain how my chest flutters
In time with your exhales
"eye contact"
Will never do justice
To the peaceful way
My world shrinks
To just you and I
And this poetry
Can't tell you
Everything I wish it could
Because this ink
Will never burn
Quite as you do
