"WHERE'S THE CEREAL gone?" I asked, checking through my pantry as I tapped my foot anxiously. It was 6:45, and I had to leave for school soon.

"I think we ran out," came my dads voice, as I felt him walk into the kitchen behind me. "But I have some left over fruit salad if that is enough for you?" He opened the fridge door and I could hear some plastic rattling.

"Fruit salad would be amazing," I smiled, shutting the pantry door. I walked over and took a seat at the counter while my dad tossed me a fork and bowl.

"Everything at school ok?" My dad asked, rubbing his tired eyes. I took a bite of apple. "Yeah, I'm getting my biology test results today so I'm a bit nervous about that."

My dad nodded. "What about your hockey?" he asked, and I swallowed what I was eating before speaking. "We have our first game this Friday after school at three forty five. I'm really nervous."

"Don't be scared!" my dad reassured, flashing me a lop-sided smile. "I'll try my best to be there."

I smiled widely, almost bursting with happiness. "Your the best dad!" My dad laughed, but only shook his head. "How was the ball on Friday? You had fun?"

I blushed slightly at the thought of whatever happened that night, but chewed on my food anyways. "Yeah, I had a really good time. I stayed over at a friends house because it was getting way too dark."

My dad nodded. Suddenly I remembered something. "Also," I began, stabbing an unfortunate piece of banana viciously with my fork. "I met one of your friends. Mr Kim."

My dads eyes grew wide. "He sponsors our school. Quite a rich man" I continued. My dad didn't say anything. His breathing hitched for a second. "Haejin," he began, voice slightly quivering. "Yeah?" I hummed, looking up from my bowl.

"Stay away from him."

—— them

Mr Baek's brittle voice could barely cut through the low humm of chatter which echoed throughout the entirety of the classroom. It took multiple "excuse me's!" and "guys!" to finally grasp the attention of the teenagers.
