—— her

AFTER A BRISK and warm shower, I got changed into my favourite pink pyjamas, consisting of a short-sleeve button up shirt, and satin pink shorts. I combed my hair and left it out, not bothering to dry it.

It was seven o clock, and my dad was supposed to be home at nine today. I took out some left over macaroni and cheese that he had made late last night and heated it up in the microwave.

While that was cooking, I fetched my favourite mug from the draw, and filled it up with some cold chocolate milk from the fridge. At least the weather wasn't as hot now.

I took a seat at my desk, and placed down my dinner on one side. There was a huge pile of books and sheets lying on it, and I let out a small sigh.

I took the first book from the pile, and began to study. Across the window from me, I could see Riki and Jungwon. They also seemed to be pouring over their homework, and I smiled.

Today was going to be a long night.

"Let's start with maths first" Riki said, fingers weaving through the multiple sheets that laid in a neat pile in his desk. I nodded, resting my chin on the palm of my hand.

"Thank goodness we finally have a good teacher this semester," Riki sighed, clicking his pen before scribbling something down. "I'm actually learning something for once."

I hummed in agreement, extracting my own maths sheet which I had completed days before. "That's completely wrong, by the way."

Riki turned towards me, an eyebrow cocked up in surprise. "Which one?"

I leaned towards and pointed towards the problem on the page. "It's asking you to find x's square root, not x squared."

Riki sighed in irritation, picking up an eraser and violently tearing at his page.

"Seriously," I said, leaning back in my chair. "This is baby stuff, how do you not know how to do this?"

Riki rolled his eyes. "Well, not everyone's as multi talented as you, Mr Incredible."

I scoffed. "Or maybe you're just a dumbass."
