—— her

YEJI AND I talked for hours. It was good to talk with her after all these years. I didn't even remember some of the stuff she had claimed to have done with me, but it was interesting. Interesting to get more insight into the child I had been and how she had also matured over the years. Even after we had had our dinner, we still kept on talking and talking.

And surprisingly enough, Riki and "Won" had continued whatever they were doing consistently, only sharing hushed whispers occasionally.

Yeji also seemed to notice this.

"What are you guys even doing, Riki?"

Riki didn't even turn around to face us. He just spoke, scribbling down a few notes. "Holiday homework."

"Just before school starts? Aren't you supposed to have finished that by now?" Yeji asked, furrowing her eyebrows in disappointment.

"I forgot we even had holiday homework, it was thanks to Won that I actually remembered" he mumbled, evidently slightly embarrassed.

Yeji face palmed herself, before looking at me dismayed.

"Haejin, you're going to Sangang high school too? Right?" she asked, and I nodded.

"Riki and Jungwon also go there! Their both in their second to last year aswell!" she said, clasping her hands together excitedly.

"Wait," I paused. "Isn't Riki a year younger though?"

Yeji pursed her lips and nodded. "Yeah, but he got accelerated ahead. I don't know how that happened."

I let out a small laugh. Suddenly, Ms Hwangs loud voice came booming from downstairs. "Yeji! Riki! Down here! NOW!"

Yeji looked at me with slightly panic stricken eyes. She gulped, before standing up.

"We'll be right back," she said, with a nervous smile, before she and Riki both dashed out of the room, slamming the door as they exited.

Now, it was just me and this stranger. Jungwon.

Yeji had told me about him. He was the son of two very respected actors, and he moved here when he was 8. Just after I had left. That wasn't much to carry on though.

"So," he said, slamming his book shut, and walking over and plopping himself on Riki's bed. "Haejin, huh?"

"Yup," I nodded, unsure of what to say. "Jeong Haejin."

He turned his head so his body was still faced towards the ceiling, but his head was turned towards me. "Your going into grade twelve as well?"

I nodded.

"Why'd you move here?"

"My parents divorced ten years back," I said, and he let out a small 'oh.' "I moved out of here to Seoul with my mom and I just came back today."

"That must be hard for you."

I tilted my head in confusion, before he sighed and spoke again. "I mean, you left when you were barely a kid. It must be hard and awkward to reconnect with everyone else here."

I pursed my lips in deep concentration, before nodding. "Yeah, when you put it that way... it is hard."

He smiled at me. And as he smiled I noticed the small dimple that poked his cheek. Cute. Wait what?! I just called a guy I barely know cute. What the fuck Haejin?!

Footsteps ran up the stairs, and Jungwon cleared his throat before standing up.

"I guess I'll leave now," he said, and I nodded. "It was nice meeting you, Haejin."

"You too."

"See ya around?" he said, with a small smirk.

"Yeah, see you."
