' Barry how many times do I have to repeat the same thing? And who do you think you are storming into my office?"
' We need to talk"
' No we don't. I can't even look at you right now"
' Caitlin"
' Just go Barry"
' Fine, I'll go. I just hope that you don't regret this one day"
Caitlin put her head onto the table and closed her eyes. This was all such a mess. And she hadn't even told Barry the most important thing yet. That was going to change his life. But then again she had had a good reason not to tell him. He hadn't trusted her then, would he have trusted her if she had told him? Caitlin tried to forget everything but her mobile rang
' Hello?"
' It's time"
' I'll be there as soon as I can. Just handle everything until I reach there"
Caitlin grabbed her keys and ran out
' Ben, I'm going out of town for a few days. Until I return, you're in charge", she said to her office deputy
' How long will you be gone for?"
' I don't know. I have to deal with an urgent matter. I'll be in touch as soon as I can"
Caitlin ran out of the building and straight into her car. She drove home as quickly as she could and then quickly opened the door and grabbed her laptop and started searching for flights. She sighed in frustration as there was nothing until tomorrow. She quickly booked it and went upstairs and threw some things into a suitcase
She woke up nice and early and then drove quickly to the airport. Her heart was hammering in her chest as she ran through security and to her gate. She waited nervously in the departure area. She wouldn't feel comfortable until she was on the flight to Venice. It had been too long. She didn't even know how she had survived this long. Finally her plane was called and she boarded, breathing a sigh of relief as she took her seat. She pondered over her decision as the plane flew through the air, had she done the right thing? She was certain at the time even though it had killed her, but now she wasn't so sure. Would everything still be the same? Would she be resented for what she did? She closed her eyes as she traveled back to the time she had told Ronnie everything
' Caitlin that's fantastic. Why aren't you happy?"
' Ofcourse I am. But Ronnie I can't believe Barry would think that there's something going on between me and you. I had told him everything when we started dating, but what was supposed to be the happiest night of my life exploded. I was meant to be getting engaged to the one I love but look what he did? He and his dad put accusations on me and questioned my character. I can deal with anything thrown at me, but I can't handle somebody questioning my character"
' Are you going to tell Barry what happened?"
' I was planning to, but then this happened. He questioned my character and accused me of this, who knows what he'd do if I had told him what had happened? Would he have blamed me or trusted me? I don't know what to do Ronnie. Tell me what to do"
' Look Barry is just upset right now. Try and talk to him tomorrow"
' No. I'm to upset right now. Who knows when I'll be ready?"
